📢 A special community screening: The People’s Emergency Briefing
What’s happening with climate and nature, and what does it mean for everyday life in the UK?

Join Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council for a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing - an eye-opening film bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence and why it matters for things like:

🌧️ Extreme weather
🍞 Food security
🏥 Health
💷 Cost of living

The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, and a range of voices from across the UK.
After the film there will be a short open discussion about what it means for our community and what we can do locally.

We genuinely want to hear what people think and feel about Swell Festival 2026. Not so much for the funders, but because we care. We want to understand what people want and need from their town, and do what we can to answer those needs.

We closed our joyful festival at the Arcadia, with the sea lapping all around us as the sun set over the horizon.

Martin Donnelly held us all in his words, his music and his soul, as he reminded us all of the beauty and power of our relationships with each other and with the natural world.

And he offered us the gift of setting down our phones, to simply experience the music, the presence of those around us, and the sea. Just gorgeous. Thank you Martin!

How it growing??? 🌱

Some Swell folk are in the process of cultivating a whole range of fruit and vegetables and herbs and we are hoping some of this wonderful homegrown produce will form part of a community food sharing event later this year 🍅🥒🧅

So far our growers have held community seed swaps, plant exchanges, info sessions and meet-ups in Portrush Library and even some guerilla gardening!
