Hi All ,

I recently shared the below message to our email recipients; as not everyone on Facebook is on the emailing list, and not everyone on the email list is on Facebook, I will share again here;

One of the reoccuring points raised to me in the Garden and at our meetings is that there is not much clarity for members and volunteers as to if they ARE a member or not.
For this reason, if you believe you ARE or WERE a VGC Member, or you wish to be one, please fill out the below electronic form to be re-added to the members list.

Remember, only Members have voting rights at our meetings, and with an upcoming meeting regarding proposed changes from Viewfield House it is important that everyone with interest in the garden is eligible to vote!

Many thanks to everyone who came and visited us during our 20th Anniversary celebration.

I had been keeping track of attendees, but I lost count somewhere after 50. So many friendly faces braved the weather to come shelter in the polytunnel with us!

A special thanks to Carel for a fabulous recitation of Lord Lundy - and to Morag for explaining the finer details of the Viewfield logo to remind us of the importance of our charity for healing and recovery in our community.

The fruits of our labours are just starting to show in the garden - and plenty of colours are starting to appear as Summer finally hints at beginning!

As always, the garden is open 10:00-15:00 Wednesday and Thursday every week, and we'd love for you to drop in for a visit!

We're excited to announce that the theme for this year's Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival is "Reflections".

Now in its 20th year, the 2026 festival is an opportunity to recognise two decades of mental health and creativity while looking at where we are now and where we might go next.

The theme of "Reflections" invites artists, communities and audiences across Scotland to pause, take stock and explore how our experiences, stories and creativity shape our mental health, individually and collectively.

Here in the Highlands we are planning lots of events for the festival including the annual art exhibitions, creative workshops, film screenings, walks & more - so stay tuned for some exciting projects!

A community garden in Portree which offers help to vulnerable people is at risk of closure.

Viewfield Garden Collective supports people across Skye and Lochalsh through therapeutic gardening. Without new volunteers, the charity says it can't continue.

An AGM to discuss its future will take place at Tigh na Drochaid on Wednesday 18 March at 10.30am.

Current trustee Solomon Azulay has been speaking to Radio Skye's Jamie McDonald. You can hear the full interview on Dol Dhachaigh tonight.
