We're excited to announce that the theme for this year's Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival is "Reflections".

Now in its 20th year, the 2026 festival is an opportunity to recognise two decades of mental health and creativity while looking at where we are now and where we might go next.

The theme of "Reflections" invites artists, communities and audiences across Scotland to pause, take stock and explore how our experiences, stories and creativity shape our mental health, individually and collectively.

Here in the Highlands we are planning lots of events for the festival including the annual art exhibitions, creative workshops, film screenings, walks & more - so stay tuned for some exciting projects!

If you are a local artist, group or organisation and would like to take part, then feel free to get in touch with our Project Officer Donna Murray - [email protected]

We're grateful for funding for this project through the Highland Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund from HTSI & the Scottish Government.

🎉WONDERFUL NEWS!🎉
We are staying open as a charity.
We now have new trustees which we are excited to work with and make VGC amazing.

Thank you to everyone that came to the AGM, we appreciate your support.

We are looking for more volunteers to keep the garden beautiful, if that is something you want to do, please either come to the garden or contact us.
We are also still looking for new trustees to take the load off of everyone so if you would like to be a trustee please either email us or message and we can arrange an interview.

We will have more information on the future of VGC, very soon.
We are excited for the future😊🌳

This email was sent out recently to all of the members, just putting it here to let everyone else see before the AGM.

🌳Current situation of VGC🌳
Dear Members and friends,

We wanted to inform you of the current situation at VGC prior to our AGM next week on Wednesday 18th March at 10.30am in Tigh na Drochaid.

Three of our current trustees wish to step down leaving just one trustee who is willing to continue to help manage the garden. Without any new trustees coming forward it will be impossible to continue as a charity.

We are proposing to close down VGC over the next 6 months.
You have the opportunity to express your views by commenting on this post or by attending the AGM next week.

We hope to all gather in May to celebrate together the 20th anniversary of VGC, of all the good times and opportunities it has given us to come together to create a beautiful garden and to be with a welcoming and supportive community of people.
