Another scouting weekend for Bourtree Scouts and the weather played ball for our Summer Camp. Templars was buzzing.

A few first time campers who absolutely smashed it for their first proper camp with us. While seasoned Patrol Leaders took it in their stride.

Watersports, team building, cooking over open fires, firelighting, Dutch ovens, feather sticks, axes, cooking without utensils and s’mores. Lots of different s’mores!

Evie and Otis made their promises in the new Templars campfire circle on Saturday night. Official welcome to the troop.

Arran and Corrie made their leadership promises in front of a full Templars campfire and led a couple of songs. 🐤 🐻
Thank you to 14th Aberdeen (Mastrick) Scouts for organising and leading the campfire.

Thank you to Greens of Portlethen, Warburtons and Tesco for donations of some fruit, bread and marshmallows.

For those that voted in our previous post…..check the videos on the comments to see who sank and who swam. Although spoiler….everyone got wet ! Thanks to Granite Adventures for having us again. Another fantastic morning of activities.

Finally a massive thanks to the leaders for the organising. It’s no mean feat, takes weeks of planning beforehand and plenty tidy up and badges afterwards too.

Bourtree Beavers had a fun filled sleepover in Bourtree Hall recently. They made catapults and camp blankets for their teddies; played lots of games and sang some songs. They were outside playing and singing before breakfast.
Their leaders think they are all amazing.

Some great teamwork from some of our Bourtree Scouts today. All helping at the Templars' Park Scout Campsite Work Weekend. Clearing up trees and branches from around the site. Lots of Explorers, Network and Leaders onsite too. Slightly delayed start to let the weather get over itself before the sun joined us.

Our troop spend a lot of time at Templars so it was a great opportunity to give back to improve the site not just for ourselves but everyone else that uses it too.

We also checked out the new campfire circle which is looking great, can’t wait to use it in June.

Light Painting at Tollohill Woods with Bourtree Cubs

Bourtree had a collection for the larder on Monday which some Beavers delivered after the meeting. We also used the donations to talk about healthy eating.
