❗️UPDATE❗️Say NO to Cornwall Council's intention to reintroduce glyphosate to control weeds on roads in towns and villages.
Many of Cornwall Climate Action Network's members and supporters will be at County Hall in Truro on Tuesday 21 April when the move to reintroduce glyphosate weedkiller is discussed at Cornwall Council's monthly meeting.
Cornwall Council meeting:
🗓 Tuesday 21 April
⏰️ 10.30am
📍 New County Hall, Treyew Road, Truro, Cornwall, TR1 3AY
Some of us will be joining the public demonstration outside County Hall from 8.30am onwards. Others will be inside the council chamber to hear the full debate.
At the meeting, Cornwall councillors will be considering a cross-political party motion that calls for the council Cabinet to pause reintroduction of glyphosate to allow time for meaningful public consultation.

Cornwall Climate Action Network (CCAN) is a network of 45 grassroots environmental organisations across Cornwall committed to supporting the region's response to the climate and ecological emergency.
We've written to all 87 Cornwall councillors calling on them to reject the reintroduction of chemical weedkiller.
Glyphosate use is NOT the solution, although we recognise the council is facing significant financial pressures and some public criticism of its standards.
Instead we want it to adopt a longer-term approach that ceases chemical dependency, aligns with its existing ecological commitments, and builds local resilience.
💚 Please continue to support this campaign and take action locally.
