Congratulations to CWO Bethan Price who attended the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Celebration at Buckingham Palace on Friday 22nd May 2026.

During the event, she had the opportunity to meet fellow cadets from across the Wing and catch up with Commandant Air Cadets.

The celebration featured speeches from HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and Dame Kelly Holmes, along with several other guest speakers, including Vikram Barn, better known as Vikstar123 — a particular highlight for CWO Price.

A fantastic achievement and a proud occasion recognising the hard work, commitment and resilience required to complete the Gold DofE Award. Well done!

Yesterday evening our cadets and staff had the fantastic opportunity to visit Porthcawl Fire and Rescue Station 🚒

The visit was a great mixture of education and fun. Cadets learned about the dangers and impact of wildfires, as well as the important role firefighters play in protecting the community and environment. Everyone also had the chance to learn about the equipment used by the fire service and get hands-on with some of it too.

There were plenty of smiles throughout the evening, and even some of the CFAVs got involved — with a few childhood dreams clearly being fulfilled along the way!

A huge thank you to all the crew at Porthcawl Fire Station for taking the time to host us and make the visit so engaging, informative, and enjoyable.

This past weekend, 2117 Porthcawl & Kenfig Hill Royal Air Force Air Cadets hosted a Blue Radio Course as part of Exercise Morgannwg. We had 11 enthusiastic cadets who learned essential radio skills and gained valuable confidence behind the mic. Huge well done to everyone involved—onwards and upwards!
