St John's Foundation Porthcawl

Part of the important work carried out behind the scenes by the Foundation is the preservation of memorabilia from St John's School.

We were able to retrieve the Scholars and Head Boys/Girls boards from the Dining Room when the School closed - these have until now been kindly stored by Porthcawl Museum.

Unfortunately the Museum is no longer able to keep the boards and we have been looking for alternative options. We have secured safe storage for four boards and we are looking to find a home for the final Scholars board pictured below.

The board is approximately 6ft tall and 3ft wide and features Scholars who attended the school from 1956 to 1987.

Following this weekend's devastating news about the fire at St John's School, the Foundation is still working hard to preserve the history of the School.

The Foundation has saved quite a bit of memorabilia over the years and some Alumni records.

The Foundation also runs the St John's School page as well as this page, and we would love to hear all your memories of the School. If you have any old photos please email them to [email protected] and we will add them to our pages.

The Foundation was instrumental in raising funds to support the replacement of the Pre-Prep building at St John’s School during the Summer of 2009.

Found this foto on google search, the pupil is Greg Vincent ,(from Ynysybull) if my memory serves me correctly, around 1975. He is a world renowned fishing expert.
