WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE SEEN 70 YEARS AGO
When the main line of the B.& C.D.R. closed at the beginning of 1950, the Great Northern Railway continued to operate services into Newcastle from Belfast via Lisburn and Banbridge until 1955.
In the attached photograph we get a glimpse of two of the G.N.R's AEC railcars meeting at Katesbridge on services to and from Newcastle in 1952.
