Our Tuesday afternoon group also had their last day on Tuesday past. This wee group of approx 10 ladies work continually to provide quilts, blankets, teddies, cardigans, hats etc. all for charities and hospitals - and the skill they have is utterly amazing, as you can see from the photos. Hoping they will be able to join us in our new premises in September as well, as it would be sad to lose this group.

To say it was a sad day was an understatement. But brave faces all around as the lovely folks of our Birches Cosy Club had their last meeting in our usual premises on Tuesday past. Thank you so so much to Tesco Community Champions for their very kind donations (they just loved their eggs!!) and to all the volunteers who gave up their time and have worked tirelessly over the last 25 years to make each Tuesday special for our seniors. Hopefully settling into a new site come September - but it won’t be the same.. The Birches is a special place - nowhere like it, but unfortunately circumstances beyond our control means we have to move. Hope to see all the folks stay with us in September, so it’s goodbye for now. 😔

Hi everyone. We are having a fundraiser to help with our costs. If you have any clothes to spare - we will take them off your hands for you.. all for a good cause. Mobile open this Saturday from 10am to 2pm and then Tuesday 11th March from 10am to 2pm. The committee are very grateful, and thank you so much for your continued support for your community.

Our BARN building will be open tomorrow morning from 9.30am until after lunch as our cosy club are meeting. If anyone without electric needs to use the facilities for hot water, charging devices or just to have some heat, all are very welcome to call in, you might even get a wee hot cup of tea or coffee. ☕️

Hi everyone. As some folks are in to the second day without power, BARN mobile will be opened this morning from 11am to serve out homemade soup, breakfast rolls and tea/coffee for anyone who needs hot food. If you know of anyone that is in need - can you let them know.
You can bring flasks with you to fill with hot water and phone chargers as well. No actual finishing time - but we will open until the food runs out. We hope this helps some folks out at least a little bit.

Hi everyone. We are more than delighted that numbers at our Cosy club and day care centre have increased this year. This means that we are now looking for some extra volunteers. If you are available for 4 hours on Tuesdays - 9.30 to 1.30pm to help at the centre or for 1.5 hours to help on the return bus route we would be very appreciative if you could get in touch. Bus run is every week but centre volunteer will only be on a rota basis, so could be once every two or 3 weeks depending on total numbers of volunteers. Your help would be invaluable and help to ensure our Club continues. The members would be very greatful. Thank you.

Thank you so much to everyone who came along last night to our wreath making class.. I think a brilliant night was had by all. The craic and banter was mighty and of course all the nibbles and food was delicious.. topped off by mulled punch! But how amazing to see everyone’s creations… you are all super crafty! Sorry to those who got away without a pic of their wreaths.
