Final reminder from Warm Wales.
Tomorrow, 23 August, is the key date for households in England and Wales who may be eligible for the Β£150 Warm Home Discount this winter.

Before tomorrow, check:
βœ”οΈ Are you or your partner receiving a qualifying means-tested benefit?
Including Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, income-related ESA or Pension Credit.
βœ”οΈ Are you or your partner named on the electricity bill?
βœ”οΈ Is your energy supplier part of the Warm Home Discount Scheme?

If you think you may be eligible, don't put off checking your electricity account details.

The scheme is due to reopen in October 2026, and eligible households will usually receive the discount automatically.

For full eligibility information, visit the GOV .UK website

This is the check many households may not think about.
You may receive Universal Credit, Pension Credit or another qualifying benefit…
But is your name on the electricity bill?

For the Warm Home Discount Scheme in England and Wales, eligibility for winter 2026/27 includes the requirement that, on 23 August 2026, you or your partner are named on the electricity bill.

So, if:
❓ The bill is only in someone else's name
❓ You've recently moved
❓ Your partner receives the qualifying benefit but isn't named on the bill
❓ You're not sure whose name is on the account
Check with your electricity supplier as soon as possible.

The Warm Home Discount is worth Β£150 off an eligible household's energy bill this winter.
Don't leave the check until after the qualifying date.

Receiving a qualifying benefit? Don't forget to check your electricity bill too.
For winter 2026/27, households in England and Wales may be eligible for the Β£150 Warm Home Discount if, on 23 August 2026, they meet the eligibility requirements.

One of the requirements is receiving a qualifying means-tested benefit, including:
➑️ Universal Credit
➑️ Housing Benefit
➑️ Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
➑️ Pension Credit

But receiving a qualifying benefit alone is not the only thing to check.
You, or your partner, also need to be named on the electricity bill, and your energy supplier must be part of the scheme.

⏰ Only a few days left to check your details before 23 August.

The Warm Home Discount Scheme is due to reopen in October 2026, with eligible households usually receiving the discount automatically.

A quick check now could make a difference to your energy bills this winter.
The Warm Home Discount Scheme is set to reopen in October, providing eligible households with Β£150 off their energy bill.
If you live in England or Wales, you may be eligible if, on 23 August 2026:
βœ”οΈ Your energy supplier is part of the scheme
βœ”οΈ You or your partner receive a qualifying means-tested benefit
βœ”οΈ Your name or your partner's name is on the electricity bill
That last point is important.

If the person receiving the qualifying benefit isn't named on the electricity bill, it could affect whether the household receives the discount automatically.

So, before 23 August, take a moment to check:
πŸ‘‰ Whose name is on your electricity bill?
πŸ‘‰ Is it you or your partner receiving the qualifying benefit?
πŸ‘‰ Is your energy supplier taking part in the scheme?

The scheme reopens in October, but the information used to assess eligibility is based on your circumstances on 23 August 2026.
