You've all heard of or seen the blockbuster sequel Dune 2, well we have better Dunes in Wales. Way less man eating worms, no annoying Hollywood celebs, just great weather (literally all the time, trust me) and amazing species.

It's invasive species week! Running from 20th to the 26th it's a week all about highlighting invasive species and the problems they create.
Invasive species are a leading driver of biodiversity loss across the world so knowing your species and being able to combat them is a huge help in reducing extinction rates.

A gorgeous day to out pond dipping with a KS2 group from London! Loads of fab things found by the kids as well as gosling and ducklings out on the lake. With the Southern Marsh Orchids (Dactylorhiza praetermissa) just coming into flower. What a Friday!

Last week was , we were so busy I didn't have time to post about it. We were out hiking, building bug hotels and even getting hands on with the local reptiles!
However, every week is Outdoor learning week here at Margam Discovery Centre, as nearly all our tutors have classroomaphobia and so we try to avoid them and be outside as much as physically possible whatever the weather!

Happy Equinox! Finally the days are going to overtake the nights and hopefully the weather will improve with it. It's also world frog day which is even more important! So show those amphibious allies some love
