Charity no. 1122805 ‘Swansea Bay Health Charity is the official charity of Swansea Bay University Health Board.

We aim to improve patient care by providing equipment, staff training, funding research and completing special projects which go above and beyond what the NHS is able to provide. This also includes the South West Wales Cancer Centre Fund. Our aim is to create a better experience and environment for all of our patients, staff and their families. Many of our Charity supporters want to give back and show their appreciation for the Health Board where their experience of certain areas has gone over and above their expectations. With their donations, we can enhance areas of patient settings and improve the wellbeing of all staff who work for Swansea Bay University Health Board. Swansea Bay Health Charity, registered charity number 1122805, is the official charity of Swansea Bay University Health Board.’

There’s been no shortage of smiles at Morriston Hospital this Play in Healthcare Week! 🌈

Inspired by The Wizard of Oz and this year’s theme, ‘There’s no place like play’, the paediatric play team transformed the ward into a colourful world of imagination, with animal visits, games, treats and plenty of special visitors along the way.

A particular highlight was seeing our Charity Ambassador Joel Oates take on the role of Dorothy, skipping down the yellow brick road alongside Glinda from Purple Penguin Party 💙

A huge thank you to the incredible play team, everyone who helped make the week so special, and all the children and families who joined in. There really is no place like play!

Gan gymryd ysbrydoliaeth o The Wizard of Oz a thema eleni, ‘Does unman yn debyg i chwarae’, trawsnewidiodd y tîm chwarae pediatrig y ward yn fyd lliwgar llawn dychymyg, gyda sesiynau gydag anifeiliaid, gemau, danteithion a digon o ymwelwyr arbennig.

Un o’r uchafbwyntiau oedd gweld ein Llysgennad Elusen, Joel Oates, yn ymgymryd â rôl Dorothy, yn sgipio ar hyd y ffordd frics felen gyda Glinda o Purple Penguin Party 💙

In memory fundraisers are a wonderful way to commemorate somebody. That's exactly what Rehaan's family did💙

After experiencing the care and compassion of NHS staff during Rehaan's treatment, they turned their grief into something truly inspiring, raising funds to support the hospital teams who meant so much to them. Their touching tribute is a powerful reminder of how one person's legacy can continue to make a difference for patients and families facing difficult times.

Every Sunday, a group of locals in Pontarddulais Conservative Club come together for a friendly pub quiz. Over the last 15 years, that tradition has raised an incredible £40,000 for good causes, including £16,250 for Swansea Bay Health Charity funds!

Most recently, quiz chairman Eirwyn Evans and his wife Hilary chose to donate £500 to support the services that cared for them during their own health challenges, including Haematology at Singleton Hospital and the GI Research Fund supporting bowel cancer research.

A huge thank you to Eirwyn, Hilary and everyone involved in the Pontarddulais Conservative Club Pub Quiz for their years of generosity and support!

Hafan Y Môr Children’s Centre at Singleton Hospital is a one-stop hub for children with additional needs, bringing paediatrics, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy together under one roof.

Thanks to charitable support, the centre’s garden has also been transformed into a brighter, more welcoming space for children and families 🌿

TOUCHED BY CANCER 2027 IS SOLD OUT!

Well… that escalated quickly! 😂

We launched registration at 7.30am this morning and we are absolutely blown away to say that Touched by Cancer 2027 is already SOLD OUT!

Thank you SO much to every team that has signed up. The support for this event continues to amaze us, and we cannot wait to welcome you all back for another very special day.

Following on from the incredible success over the past two years, we're bringing back Touched by Cancer in 2027!
