A lovely piece of history uncovered by friends of the Dovery Manor Museum; a letter written by Ada Lovelace from her home in Ashley Combe to her mother including her personal seal, which we have not seen before.

For all you fans of Ada Lovelace, please look at the work of "Ada Lovelace in Hinckley", who have installed a beautiful statue in the town of her birth to celebrate her extraordinary life and inspire the next generation of visionary scientists.

Another fun session renovating the extensive walled paths of Ada Lovelace's "Philosopher's Walk" at Ashley Combe, with further work repairing the walling and a whole new section of the original carriage track starting to be recovered.
We're looking to extend our sessions with some midweek as well as weekend sessions, so please get in touch if you have preferred times to help out.

Many thanks to our wonderful volunteers clearing and restoring another section of the World famous "Philosopher's Walk" at Ada Lovelace's summer home at Ashley Combe in Porlock.
It's a painstaking and rewarding process uncovering the path and repairing the dry stone walls that marked the larger carriage ways through the woods. Please get in touch if you would like to help with the work on this local, internationally known landscape.
