At our January meeting, we all became life savers, thanks to wonderful volunteers, Sue & Sarah, from Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance reminding us of CPR and how to use a defibrillator. Remember WI members, Bystanders Can Be Lifesavers.
Next month (Feb 12th), we are hosting a book night to celebrate the National Year of Reading. Bring along a book to swap and tell us all about your best read from 2025.

Our next Lifeboat WI meeting is on Thursday 8th January 7.30pm - 9.00pm at RNLI College, Poole, with visitors from Dorset Air Ambulance teaching us essential life saving skills. There will be a 2026 book review, refreshments and a raffle. See you there! Everyone is welcome.

In November, we had a delightful sing-along with local ukulele band 'Frayed Strings' and we highly recommend them, great fun!

Our next meeting is our festive gathering on Thursday 11th December, 7.30pm, at RNLI College for games, quiz, raffle and mince pies (of course!).
Everyone welcome and if you would like to join in with our present game, just bring a wrapped gift up to the value of £5.00.

At our October meeting last week, we enjoyed a brilliant talk by Mya from Birds of Poole Harbour about their Osprey project and what an incredible success it has been. A local charity well worth supporting. Thank you to our guests that came along too, hope you enjoyed it. 🐥

To celebrate our upcoming 110 year Birthday next week, we're holding a Talk on The WI at 110 Years – The Story of a Movement for Women on the WI Learning Hub

Since 1915 the WI has inspired women from all over England, Wales and The Islands to be active citizens who care about their local, national and global communities and who want to enhance the lives of women and girls everywhere. As one of the oldest and largest women's organisations the WI has been a change maker on issues that impact on the everyday lives of women and their families and are recognised as a force of nature in our society, and an important women's movement.

This webinar will celebrate WI Day 2025 by looking at the history of the organisation, showcasing its legacy and thinking about how it has transformed the lives of women over the past 110 years.

It's our September meeting tomorrow, Thursday 11th 7.30pm - 9.00pm at RNLI College, West Quay Road, Poole. We will be joined by Lucy from Sacred Crafting (Wareham) to share with us all her passion for making, blessing and healing drums.
