Win On Waste

Win On Waste Registered Charity Number 1170422 We started Ideas2Action on 31 October 2013 and currently have 3 trustees and a co-ordinator.

Charity aiming to cut the amount of waste that Bournemouth and Poole residents throw away or send to be recycled, whilst simultaneously benefitting local charities, educational and community organisations, and artists. In November of 2016 we were awarded Charitable Status by the Charities Commission. We are very excited about our organisation and what we plan to achieve. Over the next five years w

e aim to register as a charity and will continue to take action on ideas from local people. Our first project in 2014 was Win-on-Waste – Canford Heath, funded by the Borough of Poole’s Green Initiative Grant. Following on from that we expanded our We Need That recycling directory into Bournemouth thanks to funding from the Green Goals Community Fund. We heard at the end of October that we have been successful in our bid to the Poole Communities Fund 2014 (administered by Dorset Community Foundation) which will fund us to run Win-on-Waste – Creekmoor.

Win on Waste is 12!

Our charity was signed into existence on 31st October 2013, but has changed a lot over the years with the pandemic and many new developments in waste and recycling. We're excited to see where the next 12 years takes us - perhaps to our goal of a waste-free future??

We couldn't do the work we do without the support of our volunteers and donors, so we'd love to thank them all on our special day.

Another item that people don't often know what to do with - !

Our sessions all collect bras in aid of Against Breast Cancer, and this contributes to their fundraising via bra . The bras can be in any condition as they are all inspected and sold on, or anything truly at end-of-life is dismantled and responsibly recycled.

The charity receive £700 per tonne of bras, which goes to fund their lifesaving cancer research.
