3rd Poole Sea Scout Group, based in the centre of Poole, provides adventure and activity for over 150 young people on a weekly basis.

Friday Scouts Survival Camp! ⛺

The other week, Scouts from our Friday Troop headed out on camp and what a great experience it was!

They got stuck into learning and practicing survival skills, including building their own shelters and cooking meals over fires they made themselves.

Monday Beavers have been busy! 🐌

The other week, Monday Beavers welcomed back former Leader Owl who is a Veterinary Nurse. They took the opportunity to learn all about Giant African Land Snails and how to look after them, the Beavers also learnt about lots of other different animals as well!

Summer's Nearly here! 🌞

Monday Scouts spent last night preparing themselves for the Boating Season ahead! As part of the Staged Water Activity Badges and Nautical Skills Badge the Scouts made sure that they had the right skills for the season ahead.

We're looking forward to this years boating season! 🚣

🤿 Scuba & Snorkelling 2026

All three Scout Groups over the past two months have had the chance to have a go at Scuba Diving and Safe Snorkelling! A massive thank you to Dorset Diving Services who were absolutely amazing and really accomodating across all of the sessions! 😀

Plenty of new skills learnt and fun games played!

We have spaces available on both Saturday 11th April and Sunday 12th April on our Scouts/Explorers RYA Powerboat Level 1 Course.

⛺ Monday Scouts Camping Trip

A great, chilled overnight residential for Monday Scouts last weekend – brushing up on some camping skills: fire lighting, gadget making, knife skills, and tent pitching.

Tuesday Scouts Fire Safety 🔥👨‍🚒

A massive thank you to DWFireRescue's Poole Fire Station for a great evening on Fire Safety this Tuesday. Our Scouts spent time learning about different types of incident that they may see themselves in and key emergency procedures if they do find themselves in an incident or see an incident as well as other key fire safety aspects.

We then had to do the fun part, look around the appliances and spray some water and of course the leaders had to have a go as well! 💦

Monday Beavers Orienteering Fun! 🌞

Our Monday Beavers enjoyed a session of Orienteering at Upton Country Park this week with a twist! The Beavers had to find hidden challenges with a Moorse Code letter to decipher and at the end guess what the word was (it spelt BEAVERS)!

A fun evening of singing, listening to brids, naming rocks, trees and flowers as well as some orienteering skills in the mix. Well done Monday Beavers!

It was a pleasure to welcome Sarah from the The TALK ABOUT Trust last week to our Tuesday Scouts Meeting for an Educational Session on Smoking, Drugs and Alcohol awareness.

This session is part of their Skills Challenge Award and this session gave them the knowledge and understanding to be able to sign off this element of the badge. This also made them think about what they might want to do in five years time and if any of what was talked about could have an effect on their five year dream.
