This week, we had the privilege of awarding our second grant, and delighted to support with a £2,000 donation 💜🌈🦄
It was truly inspiring to meet Kate, Meredith’s mum and the founder of this incredible Dorset-based charity. Through her own family’s experience of childhood cancer, Kate (And the amazing Meredith) have created a lifeline for families navigating some of the most challenging times imaginable.
Our grant will help fund personalised respite days for families whose children are undergoing cancer treatment.
When a child is diagnosed, families often face both emotional and financial pressures, with reduced income and increased everyday costs. Meredith’s Mission removes barriers to precious moments of togetherness, giving families the opportunity to enjoy meaningful experiences away from hospital, without the added financial burden.
These tailored respite days are carefully planned around each family’s needs and interests, providing brief but invaluable moments of normality, joy and connection during treatment.
The programme also ensures families remain within safe travelling distance of a hospital, offering peace of mind alongside much-needed respite.
We are honoured to play a small part in helping Meredith’s Mission continue this vital work and support more families across the region.
