10 RMC cadets getting on the water learning new skills and/or polishing up the ones they already have.

Fantastic to have units working together and thank you to the joint staff who made it all happen.

More to come over the next few weeks and a pleasure to provide additional opportunities in a collaborative way.

Captain Sea Cadets, Captain Hannah MacKenzie VR RN has a message for our dedicated volunteers:

"As we celebrate Volunteersโ€™ Week 2026, itโ€™s the perfect time for me to reflect on the incredible volunteer-led outcomes and achievements Iโ€™ve witnessed during my first six months as Captain Sea Cadets. Firstly, thank you to all the amazing command teams, instructors and trustees who have welcomed me into their units during my travels so far. Your passion and dedication has been truly inspirational โ€“ and I know that your hard work and positive impact is being replicated in units across the UK.

To every single one of our volunteers: I am absolutely humbled by the effort and commitment you show, week after week, rain or shine. The way you always put your cadets first; your pride in seeing them achieve their potential; and the support you show to your colleagues โ€“ that is the bedrock of the Sea Cadets family, and I am so honoured to be your Captain. Because of you, our young people are gaining the confidence, resilience and strong values they'll need to be the leaders (and volunteers) of the future! On behalf of everyone at MSSC, I offer my deepest thanks. BZ!"

Boat almost to sunset. What a great way to end the day ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you to CPO Crisp of Sea Cadets Christchurch and our very own AB Davis for getting our young sailors afloat and the CO for elements of power too.

Great team work helped close up at the end of the night as our routine continues to evolve and become more efficient, well done.

Wow what a contrast 48 hours make, although the tide decided not to play ball the cadets and staff made the most of getting afloat.

With a 2-3 southerly and a falling tide the sailers headed out across the north channel and took advantage of the shallower smooth waters.

Meanwhile the rowing crew managed to weave around the moorings with the unit RIB(Marlin) shadowing them.

Even the CO got his legs out as the stores issued summer weather had just turned up ๐Ÿ˜‚

Thank you to Salterns Marina for allowing an over night berth for the RIB as the low tide proved too much of a challenge to recover at the end of the night.

Thank you also to CPO Crisp of Sea Cadets Christchurch for your valuable time that enables continuation of sailing on such a lovely night, finished off with one of our famous sunsets.

BZ all.
