🌈Pride month 🌈

Pride is celebrated in the month of June, as that was the month when the Stonewall riots took place.

The Stonewall riots were important protests that took place in 1969 in the US, that changed gay rights for a lot of people in America and around the world.

Pride is a celebrations of people coming together in love and friendship, to show how far LGBTQ+ rights have come, and how in some places there's still work to be done.

Throughout the month we will be attending a few pride events across Dorset so keep an eye out on our stories for where we will be!

⭐This weekend Sophia is running the Stockholm Marathon to fundraise for STARS Dorset ⭐

Sophia's goal is to raise £500 and she is 3/4 of the way towards this goal!

We want to wish Sophia the best of luck this weekend and thank you for choosing to support us 🌟

Please see below Sophia's fundraising bio and follow the link in our bio to support her journey:
My name is Sophia and I am running the Stockholm Marathon this year to raise money and awareness for STARS Dorset, a local charity supporting people affected by sexual violence and abuse.

As a mental health practitioner working in primary care, I see firsthand how vital services like STARS are. I regularly work with people who are struggling with the lasting impact of trauma, and I’m often reminded how important it is that the right support is available.

STARS Dorset provides vital, free specialist services including counselling, advocacy, and support for survivors across our community. Their work helps people rebuild their lives after trauma, offering a safe space, understanding, and practical help when it’s needed most.

Taking on the Stockholm Marathon is a personal challenge, but also an opportunity to contribute to something much bigger. Any support, whether through donating or sharing, will help STARS continue their essential work. Your gift can make a life changing difference — please give what you can to help transform the lives of survivors.

Today is World Meditation Day!

Today is a gentle reminder that if you are looking for less stress and more calm, meditation is an option.

Meditation is not about changing who you are it's about training in awareness and getting a healthy sense of perspective. You are not trying to turn off your thoughts or feelings you are learning to observe them without judgement and hopefully over time you might start to understand them as well.

A few examples of meditation are mindfulness, body scanning, walking, yoga, deep breathing exercises and guided imagery and visualisation.

For more examples and explanations of these techniques please follow the link below.
