BROWNSEA SWIM 2026 PHOTOS

We are very sorry that we have been quiet since the Swim.

Sadly, one of our swim organising team members, who was a long- standing trainer and friend of RLSS Poole Lifeguards, and the man who was taking all the photographs of all the swimmers, suffered a medical incident at the end of the Brownsea Swim 2026, while we were packing everything away on the Sunday afternoon. Tragically, he did not recover.

We have been coming to terms with this loss ourselves and have also wanted to give his family the time and privacy to grieve.
David Perch was an incredible man with a huge personality who touched the lives of so many people. His presence, energy and dedication will be missed more than words can express.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his wife, Lynne, his daughter, Amy, his son, Jake, and all of his wider family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time.

We have been adivsed by his family that they do have the camera and that they will be happy to send us all the photos in due course.

Could we ask for your patience re the photos, David had recently taken to photography in his own spare time as a hobby, and he was loving taking the photographs of you all. We will let you all know as and when we get to process and publish them

🏊 Brownsea Swim 2026 – Important Entry Check Before 5th September

As we approach the final preparations for this year’s swim, please be aware that entries will be locked down on 5th September. After this date, no further amendments can be made to your Eventrac entry.

✔️ Check Your Swim Category
A number of entries on Eventrac are still showing NO Category.
This means we do not know whether you intend to swim wetsuit or skins.

Please log in to Eventrac and ensure your category is correctly selected before 5th September.

⏱️ Check Your ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival)
Some entries currently show incorrect or unusual ETA values.

Your ETA must be stated in minutes, and the cut‑off is 180 minutes.
This is essential for safety and for assessing your ability to complete the swim.

Anyone taking significantly longer risks being pushed backwards by the tide and may not make it around the island.

🔍 Final Reminder
Please double‑check your Eventrac entry details — category and ETA — before 5th September to ensure everything is correct ahead of lock‑down.

Community in Action

A huge thank you to Simon and Lara Moore for once again providing water safety and first aid cover for the annual Bearwood Church Youth Group beach evening.

For over 12 years, they’ve helped make this fantastic community event possible, giving young people the chance to enjoy a safe and fun evening at the beach.

We’re proud to support events like these and look forward to returning again next year.

Beach Training!!

After a delayed start to the season due to the rare Red Heatwave Alert, we were delighted to finally get back in the sea on 2 July.

It was fantastic to see so many members proudly wearing our new yellow rash vests. A huge thank you to the team at the Royal Mail Sorting Office for their generous donation, which helped make these possible.

Hello everyone, we hope you’re as excited as we are about the swim being back this year!
Please read the information below before places go on sale!
When the swim places go live;
- full distance places will be on sale
- ⁠Half swim please use the waitlist option
- Half swim will potentially go on sale at a later date (if it goes ahead this year)
This year we are working with Sportiva to help us run the entry process and manage the overall wimmer experience, in the build up to the event day. There will be two new options available when you purchase your swim places:
1. Klarna instalments payment option
2. Optional Insurance (against injury/life events)
OPTIONAL INSURANCE (against injury/life events)
When you purchase your swimming place you will have option to insure your place in case you cannot take part, for reasons such as injury/life events).
Be aware that in the event the swim is cancelled (on safety grounds) the insurance does not apply. We would offer partial refunds (once all costs are covered) as per our Terms & Conditions - see our website in the comments for T&Cs
The insurance option can only be purchased at the same time you pay for your swim place. The insurance cannot be purchased at a later date.
Please make sure you’ve considered whether this is an option you want to use before you complete your registration.
