We want to say a huge thank you to Churchill Living for raising an incredible £4,200 to help us provide outstanding hospice care to our local community! 💛

As part of Churchill’s 10,000-step challenge, six lodges came together to collectively walk an amazing 60,000 steps which is the equivalent of a marathon! 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

A huge thank you to Ben and his brother-in-law Calum for taking on an incredible challenge and raising over £350 for us! 🌻

They cycled over 360km to Paris from Alton, averaging 83km a day, tackling 2,687m of ascent and riding in temperatures around 34°C! ☀️

Ben’s longest cycle before the challenge was 50 miles, while Calum didn’t even own a bike and had to rent one for the journey! Along the way, they met lots of lovely people who shared tips on where to find water, food and even free coffee. ☕️

After making it to Paris, they headed home very tired, with their pastry reserves running low and already thinking about where to go next!

⭐ WE’RE OUTSTANDING! ⭐

We’re incredibly proud to announce that we’ve received an Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the highest rating possible.

It’s the first time in our history we’ve achieved this recognition and we couldn’t be prouder! The CQC praised the exceptional standard of our care, the dedication of our teams, and the way we respond to the needs of local people and families.

The inspection was unannounced, giving inspectors the opportunity to see first-hand how we support patients and families across Dorset. To see that reflected in the outcome is a real testament to the dedication and impact of our teams.

This achievement belongs to everyone who makes our work possible. Thank you for your outstanding support! Please help us share this amazing news with our community 💛

A big thank you to our charity partner, Braeside Bowling Club, for their wonderful support at their recent President’s Day 🌻 We’re delighted that their fundraising continues with a Charity Day on Sunday 16th August!

The fun starts at 12 noon, with games throughout the day, a BBQ from 2pm, a raffle with lots of fantastic prizes and the bar open all day. Entry is £2 donation per person!

The club has also asked everyone to wear something yellow to show your support for Lewis-Manning! 💛

Recently, our CEO, Clare Gallie, and Chair, Cecilia Bufton, had the honour of meeting Their Majesties The King and Queen at the Corn Exchange. It was such a special opportunity to showcase the impact of our work! 🌻👑

Reflecting on the experience, Clare shared:
"It was a real privilege to share our work with Their Majesties and talk about the importance of caring not only for people living with life-limiting illnesses, but also the families supporting them.
They were particularly pleased to hear about the dedication of nearly 300 volunteers who give their time to Lewis-Manning and thanked us for the work we do supporting patients and families across East Dorset and Purbeck."
