We are excited to welcome Doris Harper-Wills.
Doris is a Guyanese born London-based Storyteller, artist and author.

She showcases Caribbean culture through her choreography, storytelling, and artistic directing, weaving in song, dance, and drama.

Doris' programs have taken place since 1966 in London, UK; New York, USA; The Yukon, Canada; Zimbabwe, Africa; and Georgetown, Guyana. Her work includes Guyana Independence celebrations in 1966, Carifesta '72 in Guyana and London Entertains in the UK

Doris is a true Windrush legend who has pioneered Caribbean folklore in Britain. In 2013 Doris released her popular paperback "The Wings of Iere: Amerindian Legends" - a collection of stories and songs adapted from the Amerindian Oral Tradition.

Doris is one of our special keynote storytellers at this year's Gathering in London -a joyful weekend celebrating culture, connection, and the power of story.

Friday 4th & Saturday 5th September, St John’s Church, Waterloo.

All storytellers, supporters, story lovers, and anyone curious about the art of spoken stories are warmly welcome.

We are delighted to welcome Taffy Thomas MBE, the first Storyteller Laureate, and patron of the Society for Storytelling.

Taffy has a repertoire of more than 300 stories, collected mainly from traditional oral sources, which he is happy to tell in almost any situation.

This repertoire was built by meeting and working with virtually all the great traditional storytellers who were alive in Britain. He is now the most experienced English storyteller, having performed in many countries on four continents.

Taffy is one of our special keynote storytellers at this year's Gathering in London -a joyful weekend celebrating culture, connection, and the power of story.
