Heather class have been getting egg-stra creative in their sessions recently!

Two of the class carry out work related learning, collecting eggs from our rescue chickens, boxing up, adding labels, dates and most importantly egg-spressioning them ready for sale! 🤪 😃 😔 😠 😝

During a creative session with their Co-Tutor, students added chia seeds to their chosen egg-spression and watched them grow over time, developing into a family of im-peckable people!

Enterprise is woven into the curriculum at Millie College and we love seeing the students engage at all levels and become curious about how it all works and links together. This is an egg-cellent example of linking horticulture, animal care, creative arts and work based skills within enterprise, all together in the learning model.

Well done Heather Class 👏 👏

We aim to create a community atmosphere on site that supports everyone’s wellbeing and improves Millie College students access to working independently and improving communication skills.

The students, staff and volunteers work to create quality food in the café, homegrown delights from the gardens and handmade crafts to sell to the public.

Part of the curriculum at Millie College is Enterprise project work.

Student groups were tasked with researching an open day activity that is accessible for all, explores sensory elements and incorporates the natural environment of Shaftesbury Holton Lee.

Projects allow students to utilise creative and IT skills, explore costs through functional maths and build on communication skills through presentations and creation of literature.

Images show the process Fern class took and their final chosen and trialled activity of journey sticks; offering visitors the chance to explore the site and respectfully collect mementos of the day.
