As we mark the end of the summer term, we have been reflecting on a year filled with achievements and memorable experiences.

From the outcome of our Ofsted New Provider inspection, to the launch of Millie's Gifts & Garden shop, expanded work experience opportunities, community learning and travel training - throughout the year our students have demonstrated determination, creativity and grown in confidence and independence.

Thank you to our dedicated staff, parents and carers, and our incredible students whose hard work and positivity have made this year so special.

We welcomed a surprise addition to the college this week.

Annie - as she has officially been named by students - was discovered in front of one of the classrooms having flown all the way from Surrey.

The young racing pigeon was wearing a leg ring, which students used to help trace her owner. We're hoping to reunite the pair in the next few days.

Look at all this crafty goodness! 👀

🧑‍🎨 The students have been creating designs and exploring different materials, methods and techniques, to expand on our popular selection of greetings cards; sold only at our enterprise led shop, Millie’s Gifts & Gardens.

🎨 Creative Crafts is one of most popular sessions on our timetable, as it is made accessible for all and offers therapeutic value. Students define their fine motor skills, learn to think creatively and independently, enhance their cognitive function and improve their wellbeing through calm, focused and mindful crafting activities.

🛍️ It is always a pleasure to see the students handy work for sale and displayed in the shop, so please do support them and pay us a visit when you next visit The Courtyard Craft Centre, Lytchett Minster.

As the temperatures have been rising, our animal care team have been creating lots of cooling enrichment to help keep the animals comfortable.

Think frozen lollies and treats, bobbing for veggies and plenty of shade and sheltered areas for the animals to cool off.
