Resilience can look different everywhere. In Zambia, it looks a lot like Angela. 🌱

With support from Oxfam, Angela joined a Farmer Field School where she learned new ways to farm in a changing climate. She also gained the confidence to become a leader in her community.

A year later, her community elected her as vice chair of their local Farming School. Today, she leads 40 people, sharing what she has learned and helping others adapt to a changing climate.

But Angela is doing more than sharing farming skills. She is helping create a more equal future for the next generation.

This incredibly powerful song was created by the brilliant Radio Silence collective, a group of amazing musicians who have experienced conflict, violence and displacement. They chose to transform those experiences into this powerful track, calling for unity, visibility and resistance against violence and oppression.
Oxfam are proud to have worked with them to create this impactful video.

In the days after two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela, there have been more
than 450 aftershocks. At least 1,450 people have died, and more than 50,000 people are
missing. There is huge damage to homes, health centres, power and water systems –
places and services that people rely on to survive.

People are coming together to do everything they can. Thousands of rescuers and tons
of equipment, medicines, and surgical supplies are there. They are working so hard to
save lives, but we need to coordinate and respond rapidly.

So, today Oxfam is joining with other charities in the Disasters Emergency Committee
(DEC) to launch an urgent appeal for funds.

Our thoughts are with the people of Venezuela after devastating earthquakes hit the west of the capital Caracus, at magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5.
At least 32 people known to be killed and sadly the US Geological Survey saying the death toll could be end up in the thousands.
Access to all affected areas remains limited, but Oxfam is monitoring the situation.
