Shine is the only UK charity that exclusively supports men and women in their 20s, 30s and 40s that are dealing with cancer of any type. Cancer is rarer in people under 50 and, although any cancer experience will be difficult, it is easy to feel isolated when you can't find people in similar circumstances to you. We provide information, support and events that encourage friendship and support and

also reduce isolation. We'd love you all to 'like' our page to share our message and show support for our members. We have a private group on Facebook for young adults with cancer (facebook.com/groups/shinecancersupport) and another for "Shine Plus Ones" - the partners, family and close friends of young adults with cancer (facebook.com/groups/shineplusones). You may request to join these groups - please send us a direct message via this page so we know who you are and can add you! Liking this page will mean you are up-to-date with what is happening with Shine and you will get invited to the best parties and events!! Please join and spread the message to your friends! Thanks

Jo was first diagnosed with cervical cancer (stage 1B) in 2013 which was found at her cervical screening test. This was cured but she was then diagnosed with high grade serious ovarian cancer (stage 3C) in 2025.

A friend told her about Shine after she received her second diagnosis which prompted Jo to join our Circles programme

We are saying thank you to every one of our incredible volunteers this week!

Because of them, we have grown a community of young adults with cancer who support each other right across the UK.

Because of our volunteers' care, laughter, and dedication, no young adult has to face cancer without people around them who truly get it.

It's time 🫶

Today, we're celebrating the fantastic bunch that took on the this year.

Alex, Yuyu, Dan, Panayiotis, Dimitra, Yiling, Charles, and Maggie smashed it for Shine by completing the half marathon, and we cannot thank them enough for their support.

Together, they raised over £8,000 for young adults facing cancer! Well done, Team Shine and congratulations on completing the challenge 🧡

Meet Will. He came to Shine Cancer Support following his brain tumour diagnosis.

Years later, he's running events across London as a network lead, so other young adults facing cancer don't have to go through it alone.
