We are the Poole Unit of the national charity the Maritime Volunteer Service.

For 32 years, we've been providing training and experience in maritime skills, our primary aim in Poole is to provide assistance to the Harbour Master and other harbour users.

It's already been a week since the inaugural Poole Harbour Commissioners Workboat Open Day - where did that time go?! 🕑

We had a great day and spoke to lots of people about our work in the harbour. Training UK's interactive models and simulator added a lot of fun.

Wow, what a day yesterday! 😎

We had a fantastic time at the inaugural Poole Harbour Commissioners Workboat Open Day yesterday - thank you to all who came to visit us!

Thanks also to PHC for inviting us to be a part of the day - it was great to see all of Poole's workboats in one place. We'll share more pictures when we finish downloading them.

We're participating in the inaugural Poole Harbour Commissioners Workboat Open Day, this Friday (14th August) from 2pm on Poole Quay.

Come down to the pontoon and visit our launch Avocet alongside our friends from PHC, the Marine Police and RNLI.

Have a chat with our volunteers about our work and mission to help look after Poole Harbour!

After another weekend of sunny patrols, we wanted to take a step back and thank the team at Poole Quay Boat Haven & Port of Poole Marina for all the help and support we receive.

All our vessels live in their marina and we always appreciate the assistance they give. Enjoy the tinnies guys! 😎

We're all 'buoyed up' in Poole... (pun fully intended)!

Thanks to Dave R for this fantastic picture taken whilst refuelling Avocet over the weekend.

We take the harbour's navigational aids for granted, but a huge amount of work is always ongoing by the marine team at Poole Harbour Commissioners to keep everything in good order!

A most interesting talk from our very own David Mathews, retired GP, the result of which should see us all live longer, healthier and happier lives. Volunteering, socialising with friends, more fibre in our diets and perhaps a 3 minute exercise routine ahead of patrols and we might all live longer but definitely happier lives.
