The Broadstone lodge meets at the Poole Masonic Centre in Market Street on the second Wednesday of September through to April. In September we install our new Master and in December our partners join us for a festive meal after our meeting. We have rehearsals and classes of Instruction during the month at which attendance is voluntary This helps in the masonic education and development of all our
members. Although this is a structured evening it is always enjoyable and fun. Membership is healthy, being one of the larger lodges in the province and ages range from 20s to 90s. Members are from a wide range of backgrounds representing different religions, ethnic groups, occupations, and leisure interests. Our meetings are business like and formal and ritual is of a high standard delivered by heart. We invite lodge and personal visitors to join us at our meetings and our festive boards or meals after. The founders of our lodge set high standards in our ritual and ceremonies as a principle. We encourage all our members to do their best in maintaining this founding principle, but also recognize the changing world in which we all live, and work does not make this easy. What we really ask of our members is that they do their best and we encourage and support everyone along the way. One of our other founding principles is that we would involve our wives and partners and families in a series of regular social events throughout the year and that we hold a traditional ladies festival in March. We aim to raise funds for both masonic and non-masonic charitable causes at our meetings and events but would never ask a member to give more that his means will allow, recognizing that every individual’s circumstances are different and change through life. Ideal candidate
We are all inclusive and want to reflect the society in which we live. Your principles should match the one we hold dear, integrity, respect, friendship and charity. We want to make good men better. Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and want to contribute to the lot of his fellow man and his fellow members and his lodge. He will be interested in contributing and improving the community in which he lives and works and be a supportive member of society. You will enjoy having the regularity and the formal ceremonial of our meetings and the camaraderie and fun of our festive boards and social events.
