Women Ascension is proud to welcome Maggie Mwenya from as our new mentor.

Maggie Mwenya is a Youth & Gender Specialist and Women’s Economic Empowerment Thought Leader with over seven years of experience designing and implementing programs that create inclusive pathways for girls and young women from education to sustainable livelihoods and economic independence.

As Chapter Chairperson for CAMFED Zambia, she has led initiatives that strengthen girls’ access to education, leadership development, and economic opportunities, while mentoring young women as they transition from school to employment or entrepreneurship. She also serves as a Mentor and Youth Coach for the Women Creating Wealth Program, providing guidance, skills development, and empowerment support to women pursuing economic independence.

In addition, Maggie actively contributes to regional decision-making, including cross-border trade initiatives supporting women across the COMESA region. Through policy engagement and regional collaboration, she works to expand economic opportunities for girls and women across borders.

She is passionate about collaborating with organizations and stakeholders committed to youth and gender empowerment, effective programme leadership, women’s economic advancement, and sustainable development in Zambia and the wider region.

Maggie joins our global mission through the Women Ascension One Million Leadership Programme, uniting five continents for quality of life and sustainable economic leadership by 2030.

Did you know that preserving culture means preserving the stories, languages, knowledge, traditions, and identities that connect generations?

The Women Ascension OML 2030 – Heritage & Culture Preservation Series (WAHCP) explores storytelling, indigenous knowledge, heritage documentation, language preservation, cultural identity, and community-led preservation.

Participants will learn how communities can document, protect, and pass cultural knowledge and traditions to future generations.
