A throw back to our Heritage workshop at In It Together festival...

What an incredible few days celebrating creativity, storytelling, and Welsh heritage!

Through our immersive heritage workshops, young people stepped into the world of Miss Jones, a real Swansea dressmaker from the 1930s and 40s, exploring history in a way that was hands-on, creative, and deeply personal. Using vintage textiles, letters, photographs, fashion inspiration, and collaborative art-making, participants didn't just learn about heritage, they became part of the story.

The workshops sparked conversations about identity, culture, community, and how the stories of the past continue to shape our lives today. It was inspiring to see so many young people contributing their own creative responses, bringing history into the present through art, reflection, and imagination.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, shared their stories, and helped bring the space to life. We’re incredibly proud of what was created together and grateful for the opportunity to make heritage accessible, interactive, and meaningful for the next generation.

May Highlights at Youth Cymru! 🙌

What a month it’s been! From festivals to programmes to youth-led projects, May has been packed with energy, creativity, and impact across Wales.

We saw the Summer Jobs Programme continue to grow as an ongoing project, supporting young people into meaningful paid work experience and helping open doors to future opportunities.

We were also proud to be at In It Together Festival, connecting with young people, running activities, and celebrating creativity, culture, and community across the weekend.

Our Energy Saving Trust podcast continued to spotlight youth voices created by our Young Co-Creators on sustainability and climate action, sharing ideas and conversations that matter for the future of our planet.

We also began gearing up for Youth Work Week, celebrating the incredible role youth work plays in supporting, empowering, and inspiring young people across Wales.

Thank you to everyone who got involved, supported, and shared their voice this month, we can’t wait to see what June brings!

Somewhere between the corporate wording, Canva graphics and TikTok trends, we’re just trying to keep youth work relatable while making sure young people feel seen, heard and included. 🙌
