Founded by Tim Rhys-Evans MBE in 2012, The Aloud Charity currently delivers activity through two main strands: Only Boys Aloud and Aloud Voices.

The Aloud Charity changes the lives of young people across South Wales through the power of group singing — via Only Boys Aloud, Only Voices Aloud and a series of other training and community projects 🎶✨ Only Boys Aloud was born from a desire to encourage young Welsh men to be ambitious for their future and equipped with the life skills to fulfil their potential. Open to any boy between the ages of 11-19, there is no audition and no fee. The only project of its kind in Wales, open access is a key part of the OBA ethos and the choirs operate in some of the most deprived areas of the country. Aloud Voices is a mixed choir group for girls and boys aged 9 – 25 in South Wales — designed to inspire and develop vocal talent in a fun, supportive environment. There are three choirs within Aloud Voices:

- Aloud Junior Voices (our youngest group for children in school years 5 and 6)

- Aloud Intermediate Voices (ideal for singers with some experience, aimed at young people in school years 7 to 9)

- Aloud Voices (for more experienced singers, from school year 10 to age 25).

We're delighted to share that we'll be performing at the RBL Wales Festival of Remembrance 2026 on Saturday 31st October at 7pm at ICC Wales, Newport.

We’re incredibly proud to be part of this special event, honouring our Armed Forces and supporting the vital work of the Royal British Legion. The evening will be hosted by Sian Lloyd and will feature performances from Aloud Again, our Only Boys Aloud Alumni Chorus, Only Boys Aloud as well as Lily Beau and Welsh of the West End.

We’re so proud of every one of our brilliant runners who took on the Cardiff Half Marathon in support of Aloud. After months of training, determination and hard work, they crossed the finish line – and together have raised an amazing £2,800!

A huge thank you to everyone who played a part in making this possible. Whether you donated, shared our fundraising page, sent messages of encouragement or came along to cheer from the sidelines, your support has meant so much to our runners and to everyone here at Aloud.

We’ve got a very busy Sunday ahead at Aloud!
Tomorrow, while Team Aloud take on the Cardiff Half Marathon, our young singers will be coming together from across Wales for our next Aloud Monthly rehearsals, making it a brilliant day of music, community and teamwork.

And if you’re heading to Cardiff to support the runners, keep an eye (and an ear!) out for Only Boys Aloud, who will be cheering on our runners.

We’d love to see some familiar faces there, so come along, enjoy the singing and help us cheer on Team Aloud and the thousands of runners taking on the challenge.
