🍂 AUTUMN IS HERE… TIME TO FIX YOUR FAVOURITE THINGS 🍂

The big jumpers are back. The cosy blankets are out. The hot drinks are getting progressively more enormous. ☕️

But before you replace that much-loved cardigan with a tiny hole, retire your favourite blanket, or give up on that coat that’s seen you through many a winter…

bring it to the next Repair Café! 🧵🪡

Saturday 31st October, Gartholwg Yr Olwg Centre, Church Village.

🍂 Mae'r hydref yma... amser i drwsio eich hoff bethau 🍂

Mae'r siwmperi mawr yn ôl. Mae'r blancedi clyd allan. Mae'r diodydd poeth yn mynd yn fwyfwy enfawr. ☕️

Ond cyn i chi roi'r gorau i'r cardigan annwyl hwnnw sydd â thwll bach ynddo, neu gael gwared ar eich hoff flanced neu'r cot sydd wedi eich cadw'n gynnes drwy lawer o aeafau...

dewch ag ef i'r Caffi Trwsio nesaf! 🧵🪡

Can we fix zips? Allwn ni drwsio sipiau?
Broken zips have been one of our most popular items in the last few months, so we thought it'd be helpful to put together a few thoughts on what we've seen to help yuo before you bring in a broken zipper.
Depending on what the problem is, there may be a way to fix a broken zip.
Zipper won't stay closed: This might mean that the sides of the slider are too loose. They may need to be adjusted using pliers.
Zipper is stuck: Rubbing graphite, soap or vaseline can help lubricate the teeth to help it become unstuck.
Zipper coming away from fabric: It may be possible to restich the zipper back in. Our volunteers can advise on whether this can be done.
Replacing a zipper: removing an old zipper and replacing it with a new one is something that takes time and is not feasible to do in our Repair Café due to the time needed. However we can look at your item to see if its possible to do, and may be able to suggest a local service who can help.
