Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. Trussell Trust foodbanks provide a minimum of three days emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK.

Let's paws for a moment: How does our pet food collection in Pontypridd work? 🐾

have provided pre-made bags of dog or cat food (plus some treats) to buy at Pets at Home in Upper Boat. You can then pop them in the donation basket by the door, knowing that it will help feed a four-legged friend in need.

What if all the bags are gone? Easy: any pet food donations are welcome.

There are also donation buckets and socks (for humans!) that help us get the stock we need to ensure that we can feed those in food crisis.

We don't just feed people who are in food crisis, we feed pets too! 🐱🐶We are at Pets at Home in Upper Boat this weekend ...

We are at Pets at Home in Upper Boat this weekend and again next weekend collecting pet food donations, but whether we're there or not you can make a difference by using the donation basket by the door or one of the collection buckets.

Netball 🏐 Rugby 🏉 Hockey 🏑 Football ⚽ Dance Academies 💃 Gyms 🏋️ Martial Arts 🥋Athletics 🏃‍♀️ and everyone else!

Could YOUR TEAM become the winning team in our September Challenge for Pontypridd Foodbank? 💚

As part of our celebrations around National World Foodbank Day, we’re challenging you to “Sport a Tin Through September!”

📅 The challenge starts 1st September ends 30th September 😁

📦 Pick up your collection boxes from Pontypridd Foodbank (CF371BW), every week throughout September, whenever your team meets, trains, plays or performs, bring along a donation and fill your box!

🎯 The goal? Fill as many boxes as possible and help support local families who need a helping hand.

🏆 At the end of September, the team with the most boxes filled will be crowned our September Challenge Champions and win a £50 Tesco Voucher! 🎉

📊 There will be a leaderboard in the Foodbank foyer, with updates across our social media as the filled boxes are returned and the challenge progresses - let’s see which team can climb to the top! 🙌

We are back at Pets UK Pontypridd in partnership with Blue Cross UK today to raise donations for pets in food crisis.

If you want to donate pet food and treats for local pets that need food please do so in store. Lots of ways to donate. You can buy a tin or two of food, buy some funky socks that are in the promotion, or donate at the register.

It's Thursday. You know what that means!

Ynysybwl Foodbank is open from 12pm-1pm in the community centre.

You can redeem your foodbank vouchers there and pick up your parcel.

They also take donations.

Thanks to our fab volunteers and the wonderful staff at PetsUK and Blue Cross UK we have already had a donation of 88 bags of dog/cat food! Thank you to all the massively generous community for your kindness. And the best thing about that is we still have 2 weeks to go of the event! If anyone wants to donate any pet food for pets in food crisis please donate in Pets At Home Pontypridd and we will pass the donations out to people in the local community that are struggling.

If you are struggling to feed your pets please pop into Pontypridd Foodbank and we can give you pet food. You will not need to obtain a voucher for the pet food.

Thanks all who have taken part so far! Let's keep the momentum up and get food for the pets that are struggling!

We are collecting again at Pets UK Pontypridd Midway working with Blue Cross UK and Pets Foundation to raise donations for pets in crisis.

All money raised will help us supply pet food to families that are struggling with food poverty.

You can donate in store and get a sticker and pen from us!

The generous pet owners have already donated lots. Check out the photos below.
