Bore da everyone, I hope you have all had a good weekend and feeling refreshed and ready for another week.??

I will be touching base with some my fellow Caerau Men's Shed members this morning.

It is to transfer various tools and equipment that the Garw Valley Men's Shed had built up over their six years of being a local Community Group for Men.

It is part of our constitution, that if and when a Mens Shed Desolves that aother Mens Shed will inherit any tools etc.

But on a positive note, a couple of the Garw Valley Men's Shed Members may well be joining up with the Caerau Men's Shed going forward.

Also out of the ashes and demise of the Garw Valley Men's Shed, comes a new project to help reduce loneliness within our Valley and Local Community.

Which will be called "Meet & Chat," and will be help every Wednesday morning between 10am and 12pm at the "Devine Delights Cafe."

Everyone are Welcome to attend, there are will be no membership, subs or joining fees, etc.etc. just

Just the price of a Cuppa and any nibbles you may want whilst you're in social at the Cafe.

It is as I said earlier, designed to help reduce loneliness within our Valley and Local Community.

Remember you are all invited, no matter of your s*x, race or creed, so come and say hello

Bore da everyone, Well, we have reached the halfway stage of the week, I hope that you have had a good week so far.??

It's with sadness that I have to announce that it is the last day and get-together of the Garw Valley Men's Shed.

The Shed has been operating for six years mmnow, but we have had a gradual reduction in members since COVID, and it has become not viable to continue operating as a Mens.

But on a positive note, out the ashes rises a new venture for everyone who live in the Local Community

From the next Wednesday, a New Meet & Chat Social, which will everyone and is aimed at helping to reduce loneliness within the Garw Valley.

Everyone is welcome to come and say hello, enjoy a Chat over a Cuppa and meet like mnded people.

I hope to see you there and help to reduce loneliness within our Community.

Bore da everyone, Well, it's Wednesday and the halfway stage of the week and it's also time for the last couple of the get-togethers of the Garw Valley Men's Shed.

It's unfortunate that the Shed has to close, but with falling membership and increasing overheads, make it not viable to continue to operate. 😪😪

But on a positive note, I will be setting up a safe social space for both men and women to meet up a weekly, at the Devine Delights Cafe on the square in Pontycymer.

It will be called Meet & Chat and it's purpose is to reduce loneliness within our Valley.

So, don't sit at home alone, come and enjoy a chinwag over a Cuppa, and make new friends with like minded people at the same time.

The will be no membership fees or subs etc. It is totally free apart from the cost of Cuppa and any nibbles that you fancy from the Cafe.

It will be starting in September, so watch this space for further details.

Unfortunately as Chairman, it is with a heavy heart that after nearly seven year's of being in existence, the Garw Valley Men's Shed will be closing within the next three weeks.

It has been a hard decision to make, but with the decline in membership numbers (21 down to 5), since COVID , it is no not financially a viable option to remain open.

We have a few things still to sort out before closing the Shed, under our constitution etc.
any equipment and monies after closure will be transferred to other voluntary groups and or charities.

Which will be decided, agreed and actioned by our existing membership.

I will keep you all updated and informed of the progress.

Wednesday is also the day for the weekly get-together of the Garw Valley Men's Shed.

We, currently meet every Wednesday at the Llangeinor Football Club between 10am and 12pm, new members are always welcome to join us.

Its a friendly group who enjoy a good old chinwag over a Cuppa or two plus a few nibbles.

So, for all the guys with time on their hands, why not come and say hello.??

Plus it's also time for the weekly get-together of the Garw Valley Men's Shed.

New members are always welcome to join us, so for men who have ever wondered what is a Mens Shed about.

We are a friendly bunch, who enjoy a good chat over a Cuppa or two with a few nibbles, we meet every Wednesday.morning between 10am and 12pm.

If a little light gardening is of interest to you, then we have our 2 x Raised Planters and half a Polly Tunnel as well.

Which are based at the Llangeinor Community Gardens, access to the site is available seven days a week.

Bore da everyone, Well, it's Wednesday and the halfway stage of the week, how's your week going.??

Being Wednesday, it's also time for the weekly get-together of the Garw Valley Men's Shed.

The Garw Valley Men's Shed is a friendly Social Group for men.

It been set up to help men to avoid being alone, because isolation and loneliness, can have a knock on effect to ones own mental and physical health.

On the plus side, you get to make some new friends as well.

You also have a safe place to have a chat and discuss any issues that you may be experiencing in this often stressful world.

As a member you also get the opportunity if you like light gardening, which you can have access to use seven days a week at our two raised planters and polly tunnel.

These are based a stones throw away at the nearby Llangeinor Community Gardens.

New members are always welcome to join us, and you will receive a warm welcome.

So, for all the men out there who have spare time on their hands and feel like making new friends and interests, come a say hello, we don't bite and you never know you might actually fund you like it.

Go on make the effort, the worse thing that can happen is that you have had a Chat with like minded people, plus Cuppa and a few nibbles, not too bad an outcome for minimum effort.👍☺️
