Ponteland Village W. I. ***We have reached our capacity for members at the present time. Our meetings are held on every second Tuesday of every month.

We will keep you updated about future events and activities on our page. We are a W.I with warm, welcoming and friendly members. Our meetings are diverse and fun, we like to step out of our comfort zone (at times) and try new and exciting activities, along with the WI traditions.

Our December Book Club meeting was held on Tuesday when 15 members discussed Frenchman’s Creek, the classic Daphne du Maurier novel, written in 1941. Set in du Maurier’s beloved Corwall, it is full of adventure and romance and lots of interesting characters.
Today our Walking Group enjoyed a local walk around Ponteland, concluding with a well deserved coffee.

October got off to a good start with our Book Club meeting last night where Mad Honey was up for discussion. All the members had very positive points to make about the book and it was agreed it made for a good and interesting read.
Today, 8 members of the Walking Group followed a 5 mile circular route around Northumberlandia, which proved to be very enjoyable.

Many, many thanks to Christine H for delivering a last minute talk last night after our original presenter pulled out.
Christine gave a very interesting and informative presentation on the history of Grainger Town and, specifically, the Grainger Market. I think we all learnt something about the centre of Newcastle that we didn’t know before! It was a great evening and well done Christine 👏

An excellent start to September with a Book Club discussion on The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, for which our members gave a big thumbs-up.
This was followed by a sunny and very enjoyable outing by the Walking Group from Heddon on the Wall passing Barn Acres Llamas and Halls of Heddon wonderful dahlias.
