WATBike Servicing and repairs from our Kirkley workshop. Refurbished and new bikes for sale. Cycle transport for groups of all sizes.

We are a cycling charity based at Kirkley, near Ponteland, in the North East of England. We have a workshop which is open six days a week for servicing and repairs, as well as bike sales. We sell new bikes for kids and adults and we also have a big stock of refurbished bikes at reasonable prices. Our ethos is to get people on bikes - we run guided rides and excursions; and have a fleet of minibuses and trailers for cycle transport anywhere in the UK.

We'll be closing at 2pm on Saturday, instead of our usual 4pm.

Our lovely volunteer, Ken, is manning the fort while Claire is away for the weekend! We have plenty of bikes for sale, so pop along and say "hi".

Putting the spotlight on one of our wonderful volunteers!

Richard has been a WATBike volunteer for about a year now, mainly on the refurbishing bikes side, but he is happy helping out in other ways, too. Yesterday, as well as going out in the van to collect some servicing work, he also gave all of our sale bikes a bit of a clean up! Not only that ..... he also swept the whole yard!! 👏💪💫

We say it all the time, but we really couldn't function without our volunteers. Whatever their role, every one of them plays a huge part in what we do. Thank you 🥰

You know you need a new bike when ........

First job of the day at NSECH was to sort Sandra out with a new bike. She came in on this knackered old Trek, with only one working brake, and parts so rusty she carried a tin of WD40 around with her!

She went away with a lovely Scott mountain bike and a smile on her face - and we were happy that she can now ride to work safely 🥰

The first of our Northumbria Healthcare events is taking place today at North Tyneside General Hospital (Rake Lane). We're carrying out Dr Bike safety checks and minor repairs, and we also have a few refurbished bikes for sale.

Tomorrow we're at Cramlington and on 16th June at Wansbeck - details are in the graphic.

These events are free for everyone, thanks to funding from Cycling UK's 'Big Bike Revival' programme.
