Rotary Ponteland organises community events (eg the Duck Race and Xmas Market) plus local activities such as litter picks and tree planting.

The club raises considerable funds for local charities (Daft as a Brush) while supporting international causes. Members meet regularly (currently over zoom), to organise fund raising and community events,to share experiences and build friendships

Great North Air ambulance
Members of Rotary Ponteland enjoyed a talk on the fantastic work of the Great North Air Ambulance. Responding to around 2000 emergencies each year across the North of England, the Air Ambulance service brings expert pre hospital care to patients when they need it most. Relying totally on fundraising, since they get no government money. Our thanks to Amanda from GNAA for the superb talk and our members who donated £300.

A big "Thank You" to the Ponteland & Darras Hall community for supporting the Rotary Christmas events. As a result a cheque for £3000 was handed over to Pathways 4 All at their Benton HQ, Tim Lamb Centre on January 9th. Money was raised at our annual Christmas Market which took place at Ponteland Memorial Hall on Sunday December 7th, where we raised over £1600 and this sum was boosted by £900 from our Santa Sleigh runs, on December 12 & 13 as well as money raised from our Pub & Club Collection on December 19th. Pathways 4 All were delighted with the support and awarded the club a certificate of appreciation.

Santa Sleigh … Christmas Pub and Club Collection
A big thank you to everyone in Ponteland and Darras Hall who came out to support Santa on his Sleigh Ride last Friday December 12th and Saturday December 13th. This Friday December 19th Rotary Ponteland Members will be visiting pubs and clubs around Ponteland between 7pm and 10pm to collect money to support the wonderful work of Pathways 4 All . We will be visiting; the Station House, Seven Stars, YOLO, The Blackbird , Pont Tap and the CIU Club.

Santa Sleigh 2025
Santa will be out again tonight, visiting Darras Hall between 5pm to 7pm, on Saturday December 13th, starting at the Royal Hampton at 4:45 then including stops at the Memorial Hall around the estate and in the Broadway. Starting tonight, Friday December 12th he will visit Ponteland from 5pm to 7pm including visits to the Jameson Manor, Ponteland Golf Club and Cheviot View. Then on Saturday December 13th, Santa will be out again visiting Darras Hall between 5pm to 7pm, including stops at the Memorial Hall around the estate and in the Broadway. Rotary Ponteland - Christmas Market 2025
Everything is ready, the tables are laid out for all our stallholders, the room is decorated, Santa is comfortable in his grotto and all his helpers will be ready for the Rotary Ponteland annual Christmas Market tomorrow. So come along to Ponteland Memorial Hall this Sunday December 7th with the market open from 11 am to 3pm. There will be a large range of craft and food-stalls for you to choose from to buy your Christmas gifts as well as raffles, a tombola, and Santa's grotto where children will be able to meet Santa Claus. Hot food and drink will be available in the car park.

Rotary Christmas 2025 – Helping Pathways4All
Pathways 4 All is the main charity to be supported by The Rotary Christmas activities this year. Working in the North East their aim is to put a smile on the face of every disabled youngster. Christmas events coming soon
The Rotary Ponteland team are busy preparing for this year’s Christmas events. Santa is getting ready for his tour of Ponteland and Darras Hall on his sleigh from 5-7pm on the evenings of Friday December 12th and Saturday 13th. But before then on Sunday 7th Santa will make an appearance at the Rotary Ponteland annual Christmas Market which will run from 11am to 3pm at Ponteland Memorial Hall. The main beneficiary from both events is Newcastle-based charity Pathways4All. So, as well as enjoying all the fun of Christmas you can help us support this local charity, which provides play and leisure services for disabled children and young people. Thanks to all members of the local community who supported the Duck Race this year, and special thanks to the many local businesses who provided sponsorship. In total we raised over £3500 for our main charity .. Cornerstone Benwell .
A cheque for £3500 was handed over by Rotary Ponteland President Archie McGlynn (pictured centre) to Amy Sturdy, Centre Manager, Cornerstone Benwell (pictured second right) at their Centre on October 22nd.
