Sprocker Assist & Rescue (SAR) is a UK-wide charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming Sprocker Spaniels in need. We’re run entirely by volunteers, with every penny raised going directly to helping the dogs in our care.

💜 **Could you foster a Sprocker?** 💛

You don’t have to adopt a dog to make a huge difference to one.

Our foster homes give dogs a safe, loving place to land while we get to know them properly and work out exactly what they need from their forever home.

Some dogs need a little time to decompress. Some need help learning new routines. Others simply need somewhere to stay while the right home comes along.

And that’s where our wonderful fosterers come in. 🐾

If you’ve got spaniel experience and think you might be able to offer a temporary home to a dog who needs one, we’d love to hear from you.

💜 **MARGOT’S HAPPY ENDING** 💜

When Margot came to Sprocker Assist, she was a young dog who hadn't had the easiest start and was nervous of the world around her.

She needed a patient, experienced home where she could be the only dog, build her confidence and learn that the world wasn't quite so scary.

Then along came Tracy and Gerry. 🐾

Margot was understandably scared and anxious when she first arrived, but with time, patience and lots of love, she has blossomed.

Her family now say she seems to have a **permanent smile on her face** – and they simply can't imagine life without her.

Margot loves her garden, her walks, her food and plenty of cuddles. She's also developed a very important collection of soft toys – or, as her family call them, **her friends** – which she happily carries around and leaves scattered throughout the house!

Tracy and Gerry tell us:

💜 **HECTOR’S HAPPY ENDING – A NEW CHAPTER, NOT A REPLACEMENT**

After the unexpected loss of their much-loved Sprocker Charlie, Andy and his family – including Labrador Boris – found the house unbearably quiet.

Then a call to Sprocker Assist changed everything.

The dog Andy originally enquired about was already progressing towards his new home, but during the conversation Donna mentioned another Sprocker who might just be the right match.

**Hector.**

Hector had been loved by his family since he was a puppy, but a change in their circumstances meant they had made the heartbreaking decision to find him a new home.

One meeting with Andy, his family and, most importantly, Boris followed. By the time they drove away, they knew. Hector was going to become part of their family. 💜

Four months later, Hector is firmly settled in – although there have been a few adventures along the way involving a stolen turkey sandwich, pheasants, deer and the strategic use of cheese and hotdogs!

Most importantly, Hector has found his place.

As Andy beautifully puts it:

**“We still miss Charlie, but giving another Sprocker the chance to be part of our family helps greatly.”**

Hector could never replace Charlie. He was never meant to. He simply became the next chapter.

🐾 Just look at Buddy! 🐾

At the start of the year, one of the fabulous prizes in our auction was a bespoke painting by the incredibly talented - and we can finally show you the finished result!

Isn’t it absolutely stunning?! 😍 Helen has done such an amazing job of capturing him — we absolutely love it.

A huge thank you again to Helen for so generously donating her time and talent to our auction, and to everyone who bid and helped us raise vital funds for the Sprockers who need us.

We love seeing our auction prizes come to life afterwards… and this one was definitely worth the wait! 🐶🎨💙

🐾 Meet Alex! 🏃‍♂️

Joining Team SAR London Marathon 2027 all the way from Bermuda is Alex!

Alex is 25 and spends his spare time running and boating with his dogs, Winnie and Twix. But his reason for taking on the London Marathon is particularly special.

Last summer, Alex sadly said goodbye to his beautiful Sprocker, Wilson, who crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Since then, Winnie and Twix have brought plenty of canine joy and energy back into the family home – including that unmistakable Sprocker character from Twix! 💜

Alex will be running in memory of Wilson, for Twix, and for Sprockers everywhere who deserve the chance of a loving home.

We’re delighted to have you on Team SAR, Alex – and we’ll try not to be too jealous when your winter training runs involve Bermuda sunshine! ☀️😂

Not ready to adopt? Foster instead.

We hear it all the time…

“I'd love another dog, but I can't commit long-term.”
“I travel too much to adopt.”
“I'm not sure I'm ready for another dog permanently.”

And that's absolutely fine — because fostering could be the perfect alternative.

At Sprocker Assist & Rescue, our dogs don't go into kennels. When they need somewhere safe while we find their forever home, we rely on foster homes.

You provide the home, the love and the day-to-day care. We'll be there to support you throughout.

Fostering might be for a relatively short part of your life — but for the dog you welcome into your home, it can be the beginning of a completely new one.
