💜 Celebrating WI Day! 💜

At our September meeting, we celebrated WI Day on 16th September 2026, marking an incredible 111 years of the Women’s Institute! 🎉

Members were encouraged to wear purple, the colour associated with the Suffragettes, who played an important role in the early history and formation of the WI.

To represent 111 years, members teamed up in groups of three for a fun photo! 📸💜

Here’s to 111 years of friendship, community and inspiring women! 💜

🌸 Upton WI – September Meeting 🌸

Upton WI members were delighted to welcome Cassy Seville, Physiotherapist, to our September meeting.

Cassy gave a very informative talk on the benefits of chair Pilates and, alongside members, demonstrated a range of exercises designed to help build strength, improve flexibility and support mobility.

Cassy also spoke about the benefits of breathing exercises in everyday life and guided members through one of these exercises.

A big thank you to Cassy for such an interesting and enjoyable evening! 💚💜

🍓 A Berry Lovely Evening at Upton WI! 🍓

Our members enjoyed a fabulous August social evening with a delicious strawberry theme! 🌸🍓

We started the evening with strawberries and ice cream — the perfect summer treat! 🍓🍦

Members then got involved in our ‘Pick Your Own Strawberry’ raffle, with some lovely prizes up for grabs. 🎟️🍓

There was plenty of laughter and friendly competition too, with a few rounds of Play Your Cards Right and Taboo getting everyone involved! 😂🎉

A fun-filled, strawberry-themed summer evening enjoyed by all. 💚🍓

We kicked off the new year, with a fantastic and informative talk for our members this evening from Dwain and Matt from Yorkshire Ambulance Service. It was great to learn more about the vital role they play in supporting our local community. A huge thank you to both for joining us tonight.
