Wolds Pride is a non-profit charitable incorporated organisation (CIO, Charity Number: 1193545) with it's local LGBTQIA+ community at the heart of it's core values. We work to ensure that there is no discrimination on the basis of, but not limited to, ethnicity, language, race, age, ability, s*x, gender identity, s*xual orientation, famil

y status, income, immigrant or refugee status and nationality. Through our all-inclusive events and community outreach and youth programmes, we aim to provide vital free education and exposure for people of all ages, demographics, and backgrounds, along with visibility, support, advice and guidance for all member of the local LGBTQIA+ community. In short; we want to encourage fearless expression, freedom and equality within safe, fun, diverse and family friendly environments. Wolds Pride was founded in September 2020 to create a platform and community where the past, current, and future generations of the LGBTQIA+ community can thrive, celebrate, get support, make connections, and learn. An all inclusive family that welcomes any member of society, regardless of s*xuality or background.

2020 was a year where each and every one of us were challenged, tested, and experienced loss. The Wolds Pride team wanted to create a rainbow ray of hope in a time where all seemed dark.

Wolds Pride encourages individuals to participate fully and to have complete access to its projects, committee and volunteer opportunities. It shall make every effort to see that its structure, policies and systems reflect all aspects of the total community and to promote equal access to all. To this end, Wolds Pride strives to provide:

Representation and vital free support, advice, and guidance for all members of the local LGBTQIA+ community. Community engagement and inclusion through our volunteer scheme, and partnership projects with local schools, and established groups and organisations; focusing in particular on youth outreach programmes. Vital free education and exposure for people of all ages, demographics, and backgrounds, including in person interactive workshops within local primary and secondary schools; delivered by industry professionals and experts. Designing, creating and producing inclusive events to celebrate the local LGBTQIA+ community, and all those who support it. Creating safe spaces for anyone to live fearlessly, ferociously, and proudly within. Visibility and equality for the entire community of Pocklington, Market Weighton, and the surrounding areas, regardless of race, gender identity, s*xual orientation, religious belief, background, or age. Creating platforms, partnerships, and opportunities with other local charities and businesses and individuals.
