🌞 As the days get warmer and the evenings stretch a little longer, we’re getting excited for our Scouts Summer Programme! There’s so much adventure ahead and we can’t wait to get stuck in together.

We’re also proud to be supporting our amazing Pocklington community, including the brilliant team behind PockDown 2026. It’s always inspiring to see local people creating opportunities, events and energy for everyone.

Here’s to sunshine, skills, and a summer full of Scouting spirit!

This year the Scout movement is marking three major milestones across the younger sections. Squirrels are turning 5 in September, Beavers will be 40 in April and the Cubs will be the ripe old age of 110 in June! 🐿️ 🦫 🐺

Today we celebrate the incredible women and girls who make our Scouting family stronger, braver, and more inspiring every single day. From our amazing leaders and volunteers to the young people who show courage, kindness, and curiosity in everything they do — you are shaping the future in the most powerful way.

Thank you to the women who give their time, share their skills, lift others up, and lead with heart. And to the girls in our sections who challenge themselves, support their friends, and show what true leadership looks like — keep shining.

⭐️🚒A huge thank you to Pocklington Fire Station for hosting such a brilliant open evening for our Beavers! The young people had an amazing time exploring the station, learning about fire safety, and meeting the crew. Experiences like this help bring our programme to life🚒⭐️

🌟 Join Our Volunteer Team at 1st Pocklington Scout Group! 🌟

We’re looking for friendly adults to help us give local young people amazing experiences — and you don’t need any Scouting experience to get involved!

Whether you can spare an hour a week, help occasionally, or support behind the scenes, there’s a role for everyone. From running activities to organising events, making cups of tea, or helping with admin — every bit makes a big difference.

Volunteering with us means:

A fabulous morning supporting Pocklington Runners at the amazing Snake Lane. Great to see so many enjoying the run and their kindness towards the young people. Looking forward to 2027, but unlikely to provide the much requested cider and gin 😂 Hope you are all enjoying one now ⭐🏆

We were so proud of all our young people and volunteers today. Representing the Group in front of so many people can be daunting for our members but they did so proudly and confidently.

We are privileged to support our community remembering those that have lost their lives through conflict and thank those that continue to protect us. This includes Joan and Albert Young, the only two residents who lost their lives in World War 2 following an air raid in November 1940.

Today the Cubs and Beavers supported the Pocklington Poppy Appeal at Sainsbury's as we commence our remembrance activities. The young people had a great time talking to members of the community and supporting this amazing charity.

Missed us? We will be there tomorrow afternoon to continue our support.

Members of 1st Pocklington Scouts will proudly take part in the town’s Remembrance Parade and Service to honour all those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom.

We are proud to stand alongside Pocklington Town Council and our community, wearing our uniforms with respect and gratitude, as we remember the bravery and selflessness of those who gave so much.
