20th Century Soldier LHG is a collection of enthusiasts and specialists that regularly present accurate and informative displays of the British Army and Royal Air Force. With a wide range of ages, interests, and experiences (including serving personnel and veterans), we bring many different aspects of military life to life in full uniform and scenarios. The vast majority of the hundreds of items t
hat we use to bring the periods to life are genuine period items researched and located from sources that include WW2, and later, veterans. These often come with stories of how they were ‘really’ used, rather than the official intentions both of which we are keen to accurately represent. Hundreds of hours and personal resources go into our self-sufficient and museum-standard displays. Each of our members share the passion of engaging with public and veterans alike to share what we have learnt about serving during conflict and peace time. National Service was the original inspiration for our group and we continue to provide displays on this often-overlooked part of our national history. We can bring your special event or historic location to life engaging your clients and increasing your foot-fall. As the resident LHG of a wartime museum our attendance has been confirmed as increasing both footfall and enjoyment of visitors. We can also provide evening presentations to interested groups / societies or daytime presentations to schools / universities on a large selection of topics.
