✨ Prom Cellar is back! ✨

As we prepare to reopen Prom Cellar in the coming months (opening dates will be announced soon), we're once again asking our amazing supporters and followers to help us make prom season magical for local young people.

Prom Cellar was created with one simple aim: to ensure every young person can attend their prom feeling confident, celebrated and included, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Thanks to donations from our community, we collect and lovingly rehome prom attire, making it available to young people for just £20 per outfit. From stunning dresses and smart suits to shoes, bags and accessories, every donation helps create confidence, opportunity and unforgettable memories.

👗 We're currently collecting:
• Prom dresses & evening gowns
• Suits, shirts, ties & waistcoats
• Shoes
• Bags & accessories
• Jewellery & wraps

♻️ If you have prom attire tucked away in a wardrobe, why not give it a second life and help a young person shine on their special night?

In June, we had the pleasure of visiting St George's Primary Academy in Stonehouse as part of Refugee Week 2026, where this year's theme was " Courage".
We spent time with the children discussing what Refugee Week means, exploring the importance of courage, kindness, and inclusion, and encouraging everyone to think about how they can take action to help make their communities welcoming places for all.
During our visit, we heard about some amazing bunting that the children had been creating. Featuring greetings in different languages from around the world, the bunting is a wonderful reflection of the school's commitment to making everyone feel welcome, valued, and included. It is displayed in the school for everyone to admire it.
A huge well done to all the children, parents, and staff involved in this fantastic project. The creativity, thoughtfulness, and enthusiasm shown by the pupils were inspiring to see.
We are also delighted to hear that St George's Primary Academy is in the process of becoming a School of Sanctuary, demonstrating its commitment to welcoming people seeking sanctuary, including refugees and people seeking asylum, and helping them feel safe, included, and part of the wider community.
👏 Congratulations to everyone at St George's for championing inclusion, belonging, and compassion. You are helping to build a stronger and more welcoming Plymouth for all.

Last week, we carried out a community engagement day in City Centre alongside Plymouth City Council Community Safety Team, Plymotion , and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service .
The aim of the engagement was to speak with food delivery riders who use e-bikes, helping them better understand the regulations around e-bikes, safe cycling routes, and how to navigate the city safely. We also provided city maps and shared useful information to support safer journeys.
To ensure the information was accessible to everyone, we distributed flyers in a range of languages. We were also pleased to offer free resources, including reflective vests, bike lights, reflective backpack covers, and other safety equipment.
In addition, we discussed what hate crime is, the impact it can have on individuals and communities, and the different ways incidents can be reported and support accessed.
A big thank you to everyone who stopped to speak with us on the day. We really appreciated the positive conversations and the opportunity to hear your experiences and views.
A special thank you to Plymotion for their continued support, expertise, and advice, which help make these engagement sessions possible.
