Massive congratulations to the BB Cohort 2 team, who recently passed their Rescue3 Rope Rescue Technician course! 👏👏

After three days of off-site training, they had the opportunity to put their newly developed skills into practice across a variety of challenging environments.

A huge thank you to the fantastic instructors at ISAR3, and to everyone who gave us access to the dam and the Tamar Bridge.

It was a great opportunity to test the team in more demanding and exposed environments, building both confidence and capability.

Breaking Boundaries #2 are back this week for their Rescue3 Rope Rescue Technician course!

Day 1 saw the team back at base at ISAR3, building on the fundamentals.
For Day 2, we headed outdoors to put their rigging skills into practice in a real-world environment.

Everyone is progressing brilliantly, and we're thrilled to welcome another group of outstanding women taking advantage of this incredible opportunity through ISAR3 and Rescue3. Their dedication, teamwork, and determination have been fantastic to see, and we can't wait to watch their skills continue to develop over the rest of the course.

This weekend, some of the original Breaking Boundaries team came back together for a much-needed reunion, a chance to reconnect, and a brilliant CPD day with our friends

What a weekend it was!
Sunshine, paddling, shared learning, plenty of laughter, and countless conversations about where Breaking Boundaries can go next.

It's incredible to look back at how far we've come from a group of women brought together by a shared passion for technical rope rescue to a supportive network that continues to encourage, challenge and inspire one another.

The future of Breaking Boundaries is full of possibility, and this weekend reminded us exactly why we started. We're excited to keep breaking barriers, creating opportunities, and inspiring more women to develop their skills and confidence in technical rescue.

Here's to the next chapter. Watch this space…

Week 1 done!

The 2026 team have done incredibly well this week, and we're delighted to say that everyone has successfully passed their RRO course.

With excellent instruction from the team, supported by members of the Breaking Boundaries 2025 crew, it has been a fantastic week from start to finish.

New skills have been learned, shared and practised; support has been given; and lasting friendships and networks have been built along the way.

This journey has only just begun and there's lots of consolidation and learning to be done, before we see everyone again in July for their Rope Rescue Technician course.

Day 4 of the Rope Rescue Operator Course ✅

The Breaking Boundaries ’26 cohort took on 90° edge transitions and expanded their knowledge of Artificial High Directionals (AHDs), learning about their uses, benefits, functions, and limitations.

Wednesdays are renowned for being “Hump Day”... but not on the Breaking Boundaries training course!

The team have been hard at work today, consolidating their personal skills and developing their knowledge of rigging, anchors, deviations, mechanical advantage systems, forces, and angles. They have also been learning a range of team rescue techniques and methods.

Everyone is doing a fantastic job on their Rope Rescue Operator Course, showing great commitment and enthusiasm throughout.
