The Elder Tree

The Elder Tree We are a preventative service that has a physical presence across every neighbourhood in Plymouth.

Our purpose is to alleviate loneliness and isolation in the over 50s in Plymouth, improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing, aid their continued independent living and support them to live healthier and active lives. We support over 1650 people over the age of 50 and champion their continued independent living in their own home but we are not a provider of domiciliary or enabling supp

ort. We deliver over 90 innovative health and social engagement activities and are supported by 170 volunteers, many of whom engage with our most vulnerable, frail and socially isolated beneficiaries in their homes. We also support over 200 people who have MCI or dementia related illness.

***We have some AMAZING news to share!***

The Elder Tree has been recognised in this year's prestigious GSK IMPACT Awards - one of the most respected national awards for community health charities in the UK - and we couldn't be more proud!

Out of a record-breaking 700+ entries, we were delighted to be one of the 15 finalists, with our work assessed across six areas - Innovation, Management, Partnership, Achievement, Community Focus and Targeting Need. Our CEO, Louise Barnes, and Operations Manager, Elliott Malone, attended the awards ceremony at The King's Fund in London last week.

This recognition means the world to us and it belongs to every team member, volunteer, partner and older person who is part of the Elder Tree community.
