Looking for something truly memorable for your 12–19 year-old this October half term?

Join The Island Trust for our final 2 sailing voyages of the season, sailing from Plymouth, 25th–30th October! ⚓

As our flagship vessel Johanna Lucretia has started her winter refit season we have the absolute pleasure of bringing in the gorgeous looking Tectona for this voyage with huge thanks to The Tectona Trust. Moosk will also be sailing!

Imagine six days of adventure, fresh sea air and life under sail — learning new skills, working as a team, making new friends and building confidence along the way.
Whether they're already passionate about the sea or keen to try something completely new, this is a brilliant opportunity to step outside their comfort zone, discover what they're capable of and make memories to last a lifetime. 💙

Home Educated sailor, Male place only aged 12 to 18 years – Ocean Literacy voyage

Jump on board our Ocean Literacy voyage for your own Blue Planet experience, and explore the marine world, above, on and below the sea. We all depend on a healthy ocean to continue living on Planet Ocean; this trip will help you understand why, what you can do to help its future, and the opportunities it offers for recreation and work.

Work towards an RYA qualification, Competent Crew or Start Yachting and counts towards a DofE Gold Residential award

Both voyages start in Plymouth at 4pm Sunday 30 August and finish 12 noon on Friday 4 September

Join us for an unforgettable Ocean Literacy Voyage and experience your very own Blue Planet adventure!

During this exciting voyage, young people will have the chance to explore the marine world above, on and below the sea 🌊🐟🦀

Together, we’ll discover why a healthy ocean is so important to all of us, learn about the incredible wildlife that lives beneath the waves, and explore what we can do to help protect our ocean for the future. 💙🌍

📖 Learn from our specialist Ocean Advisor and On Board Ocean Educator
📝 Record the incredible species we encounter
🌊 Explore the waters of Devon and Cornwall

⚓ Discover opportunities the ocean offers for recreation, education and future careers

This is a fantastic opportunity for home-educated young people aged 12–18 to learn, explore, make new connections and experience the ocean in a truly hands-on way.

The cost of this 5 night voyage is £575, which includes all food and drink on board as well as the opportunity to work towards your RYA Start Yachting or Competent Crew certificate.

Excellent work John and very well deserved. You are a true ambassador for The Ocean Discoverability programme and the value it brings to our young people.

It was wonderful to welcome John Hepburn from The Island Trust, one of our valued partners, and present him with Silver Ambassadors Certificate in recognition of the Trust's ongoing support and commitment to our work.

The Island Trust provides sea related experiences for children and young people, helping them to build confidence, resilience, teamwork and independence through adventures at sea. Over the years, Millfields Inspired has been proud to work alongside The Islands Trust, creating opportunities that broaden horizons and inspire children to believe in their potential.

We are delighted that, in October, a group of children from Whitleigh Primary School will have the opportunity to sail aboard one of the Trust's vessesls, taking part in what promises to be an unforgettable experience that will help them develop new skills, overcome challenges and create lasting memories.
