Once again huge thanks to Sarah at Harbourside Fish & Chips for the generous donation of chips for the Soup Run on Sunday evening. Everyone was delighted, with many tucking in straight away but being mindful of the seagulls!!
The team also served some chicken pieces, sandwiches, snacks, soup, hot drinks and bags of sweets. Bottles of water were available and there was some ambient food.
112 meals were served during the evening and 3 sleeping bags and 2 day riders were given out.
Huge thanks to all the team, some of whom had also served on Saturday both at Shekinah in the morning and then out on the Run.

The change in the weather from Friday night to Saturday was unbelievable. From thick mist on Friday to a glorious pink, red sky on Saturday.
It was a busy Saturday night, for the team who operate from Shekinah, with 105 meals served. Charlie Ede was busy all day, having cooked the breakfasts on Saturday a.m. he then prepared fish finger, potatoes and peas or vegetarian mince, potatoes and peas for the evening Soup Run.
There was also a choice of tuna, cheese or ham sandwiches with crisps, a chocolate bar, plus soup, water and hot drinks.
Last night as is so often the case, when catching up with people, the news is a mixture of happy events, moving forward and sadly loss and bereavement. Whatever people’s news it is a privilege they share it with us.

24 people joined us during the morning, with 10 people taking the opportunity to have a shower and some clean clothes. 1 laundry voucher, 1 day rider, 1 rucksack and a sleeping bag were also given out.

It was a busy, steady and very cheerful Friday, with a thick mist everywhere. As usual the team of cooks at Plymouth Christian Centre were busy earlier in the day making the food for the evening. On the menu was carrot and coriander soup, highly rated at every stop, jacket potato with bacon, cheese and beans, pasty and beans, feta salad and a variety of cheese and ham based sandwiches. Snacks, cold and hot drinks were also available.
95 meals were served during the evening and 3 sleeping bags, a pair of shoes and some items of clothing were also given out.
A member of staff from Path Devon joined us during the evening and accommodation was arranged for 1 person over the weekend.
Councillor Ben Rowe joined the team at stop 1 to meet the team and see how Plymouth Soup Run works. He also donated some food.
Many thanks to Plymouth Christian Centre & everyone who volunteered on Friday.

4 sleeping bags, 2 roll mats, toiletries and underwear were also given out.

After the high numbers recently, the team from Mutley Baptist Church prepared 108 meals, but had a feeling it might be quieter with England playing their opening game. And what a result!
There was a steady flow of people at the first stop, with most in good spirits, followed by only a couple at the Hoe, a dozen at Martin Street and 30 + at Kings Road.
Everyone seemed in good spirits.
3 Sleeping Bags were given out.
Thank you to Tesco for their usual donation and an additional huge drop off at the Money Centre. Also thank you to St Paul’s Church Efford who donated lots of left over cakes from an earlier event which went down very well! And to for the grapes and Jaffa Cakes.
Lots of toiletries, coats and underwear were given out.
75 people were served and as the team had catered for more, some meals were collected for family/ friends.
Many thanks to Mutley Baptist Church and their dedicated team of volunteers.

Lorraine and Jess led the The Salvation Army - Plymouth Whitleigh team in the kitchen along with DofE student Louis. Hot dogs, pasties, homemade tomato and bean soup and the ever popular milky hot chocolate were on the menu along with the usual sandwiches etc.
Ben drove the Round Table team on the bus along with Prayer Pastors Kath and Bronia who were available to listen and chat when possible with the high numbers.
5 sleeping bags were given out plus some clothes and toiletries.
Thanks to everyone who helped both back and front of house.
And thanks to StreetVet, Plymouth for their help every Monday.

On Sunday there was a constant, steady flow of people at each stop, with a total of 137 people served, There were no issues to report and everyone was in good sprits.
A Police woman came to the first stop as she was trying to help two . She was given 2 x sleeping bags, roll mats, hot food and snack bags. Referrals had been made to Path Devon. A number of the service users recognised the police woman and greeted her fondly.
Great collaborative working.
The team from St Paul’s Church Efford had prepared 120 meals but, as it was a very busy night, at the last stop they needed to raid their reserves. However, everyone was well fed as the team also had some ambient food to give out.
2 sleeping bags, 4 roll mats, a blanket, 2 day riders and 4 tins of dog food plus the usual large amount of clothing and toiletries were also given out.
Many thanks to ALL the team who will do it once again on Tuesday as we were short of a team.
