We’re absolutely delighted that Move to Nurture – Dance for Cancer Care was Highly Commended at the BBC Radio Devon Make a Difference Awards! 🎉

This lovely group are the reason I do what I do. Our group is about so much more than dance — it’s about connection, friendship, moving together, laughing together and supporting one another through and beyond cancer.

I’m incredibly proud of them, and so grateful to the two wonderful members who went along to the awards and represented us. 💜

For a little organisation quietly doing its thing, recognition like this really does mean a lot. It helps shine a light on our work and, hopefully, helps us keep bringing Dance for Health to more people who need it.

Highly Commended!! We’ll take that! 🥰💜

Maryam is a finalist in the BBC ‘Make a Difference Awards’ in the active category. This award recognises and celebrates local people who are supporting their community.

Our Move to Nurture classes are now back after the summer break. Morning snd afternoon sessions on a Tuesday in Plymouth.

Today team ‘Dance for Life Devon’ took part in

Boy did we have fun!

We strolled, danced, chatted, took photos, ate sweeties and generally had a blast being together and raising funds for a cause very close to our hearts.

On Saturday we hosted the Thrive Together event. It was a lovely afternoon of connection, support and community. A big THANK YOU to all the wonderful organisations who came and shared their expertise with us and of course THANK YOU to everyone who attended. We are really looking forward to our Thrive Together event which is happening tomorrow in the lovely Sherwell Church

If you’re out and about in Plymouth City Centre pop by for a cup of tea and find about some of local cancer support groups we have in the city.

It will be relaxed afternoon, with plenty of tasters - singing, dancing, holistic therapies as well as organisations offering advice for anyone affected by cancer.

We know movement can help both the body and mind. Moving to fabulous music not only helps mobility, coordination, balance, and strength but can lift the soul, help to release stress, anxiety and reduces feelings of isolation.

Everyone is welcome to join our free Move to Nurture sessions - come and be part of a wonderful group of dancers who love to move, groove and have a giggle together!

"Learning to trust her body again" was a battle for Julia Freeman after she was twice diagnosed with breast cancer and needed surgery and chemotherapy to recover.

We are delighted to host another Thrive Together.
Saturday 30th May 2-4:30pm
Sherwell United Church, Plymouth.

Join us for a relaxed community event where you can speak to local cancer support groups, get some advice and try out different activities to support you on your cancer journey.

We’ll have some gentle dancing, singing tasters,
Holistic therapies like as reiki and forest therapy, hair care and wig specialists and well as signposting and advice from Plymouth’s many wonderful cancer organisations and groups.

And they’ll be free tea and biscuits!!!
