Our final thank you from Saturday's wonderful event goes to our amazing volunteers!

It was so lovely to see so many people come together to help make the day such a success. From helping to with the set up, creating the the balloon arch (an incredible feat, huge thank you to Christine and her daughter, Vicky for making this for us!), to donating raffle prizes, supporting us with beautiful handmade keepsakes for our stall, helping to serve teas and coffees, and helping with the clear-up at the end of the day, every contribution made a difference.

We would also like to say a BIG thank you to the wonderful pupils and staff at St Matthew's Derriford Primary School for creating wonderful flags to help cheer Ricky on as he completed his fundraiser. These were so colourful and creative and really helped to make Ricky's achievement even more special.

What an incredible celebration of 25 years of Hearts Together.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to mark this special milestone. Seeing so many of our fantastic supporters, friends, partners, volunteers and community members together in one room was truly special. It was a joyful day filled with conversation, laughter, plenty of cake, and a huge cheer as Ricky completed his incredible 37-mile ultra marathon at the hotel.

His challenge reflected the journey that so many families make in difficult times, travelling long distances to be close to loved ones receiving treatment. He was welcomed across the finish line by our wonderful Daisy Deer, creating a moment to remember. We were also delighted to launch our Sponsor a Counsellor campaign – with more news to follow soon.

Since 2001, Hearts Together has provided affordable, welcoming accommodation and support for families receiving medical care in Plymouth. Twenty-five years on, the vision of our founder, Monica Pierce, continues to guide everything we do. What began as her determination to create a safe and supportive place for families facing Heart related illnesses, has grown into a charity that has helped thousands of people, with any health related need, through some of life's most challenging moments. We like to think Monica would be immensely proud of all that has been achieved and the many lives that have been touched along the way.

What a fantastic day celebrating our 25th anniversary! 🎉

We have a full reel of amazing photos and videos to share soon, but first, we wanted to say a HUGE thank you to our incredible team.

Every one of you went above and beyond to help make the day such a success. Whether you were helping with the setup, standing in the rain as a parking marshal, making teas and coffees, running the raffle, or simply coming along to support the event, you all played a part in making the day so special.

You made us incredibly proud to be part of this team. Your dedication, teamwork, and enthusiasm shone through from start to finish.

When we come together, anything is possible. Thank you all for helping us celebrate this milestone in such a memorable way! ❤️

Volunteer with... Hearts Together

"Volunteers are integral to delivering the values of Hearts Together and are central to increasing the impact of our work. Volunteers enable us to provide a much broader level of care and service to everyone on a more personal and individual basis.

Our home-from-home accommodation at Hearts Together Hospital Hotel in Plymouth sees around 10,000 patients, carers and relatives staying with us each year and we are open 365 days a year. This means that there is always work to be done, although we have a busy team, an extra pair of hands is always needed"!

A Friday with a celebration!

Our CEO Angela, and staff team members Rachelle and Maggie had the pleasure this week celebrating the incredible contributions of our volunteers, Brooke and Lacey from a local school, and Pete from Work Able Plus , who have all dedicated their time to volunteering at Hearts Together Hospital Hotel.

A huge thank you to them for their time, commitment, and support. We're especially pleased that Pete has chosen to continue volunteering with us and join our regular volunteer team. We're incredibly grateful and look forward to having him as part of the team for the future.

All of our volunteers are incredibly special to us, and the support they provide in so many different ways is truly invaluable. Today, however, we would like to shine a special spotlight on five of our longest-serving volunteers — Vera, Diana, Cathy, Karen, and Steve.

You all consistently go above and beyond, putting the heart into volunteering at Hearts Together. The support you give each week, along with the warmth and positivity you bring to the team, is immeasurable. The difference you make is clear to everyone around you.
