A huge thank you to Lucy and Curt for organising Saturday’s Friends of Cann Bridge School Darts Tournament at The Jolly Miller.

The event raised an incredible £305, which will go towards enhancing opportunities and resources for our learners, including supporting future playground developments and other projects across the school.

Events like these simply wouldn’t happen without the time, dedication and enthusiasm of our amazing volunteers, local businesses and everyone who came along to support. Every pound raised makes a real difference to the experiences we can offer our learners.

We’re also delighted that our popular Friends of Cann Bridge School Bingo Nights will be returning in September, providing another fantastic opportunity to come together as a community while raising funds for our school.

Thank you once again, Lucy and Curt, and to everyone who supported the event. We really do appreciate everything you do for our school community. 💚

Cann Bridge School Summer Show – we’re all set for Tuesday 21st July 2026! 🎉

We’re looking forward to welcoming families and friends to what promises to be a fantastic day of celebration and fun.

✨ Everything is coming together:
106 tickets have already been ordered!
Pop-Up Play, an Ice Cream Van and Bouncy Castle have all been arranged.
Lee will be DJing to keep the atmosphere lively throughout the event.
Friends of Cann Bridge (FoCB) will be running a raffle and refreshments.
A letter has been sent to parents and carers with details about timings, parking, lunch arrangements and activities.

📅 Tuesday 21st July 2026
🕥 Performance begins at 10:30am (arrival from 10:15am)
🧺 Family picnic at 12:00pm
🎈 Activities include: bouncy castle, games, sensory play, refreshments and an ice cream van.
Please remember that some activities may require cash.
🚫 Important reminder: No mobile phones, photography or video recording during the event.

We can’t wait to celebrate with our pupils, families and friends.

Due to the number of events we have planned for the rest of this year and next, we have made the decision to postpone the Ball till 2028.
We are really excited for what we have planned for the rest of 2026 and 2027.

🎟️☀️ Friends of Cann Bridge Summer Raffle! ☀️🎟️

There’s still time to enter our Summer Raffle, with the draw taking place after our Summer Show on Tuesday 21st July!

We’ve got some fantastic prizes up for grabs, including:
🎁 Beautiful hampers
🍰 A delicious homemade cake
✨ And a range of other exciting prizes!

🎟️ Raffle squares are just 50p each, and every penny raised goes directly to Friends of Cann Bridge to support our learners by funding:
💚 Resources for classes
🎄 Christmas presents for our children
🛝 Playground improvements
…and so much more!

Raffle squares were sent home in pupils’ bags last week. If you would like additional squares, these can be requested from Reception (either through your child’s home-school book or by contacting Reception directly).

Members of the wider community are also welcome to purchase raffle tickets from Reception.

Please return your completed raffle squares, including your name and contact telephone number, to the school office by Friday 17th July 2026.

If you or your business would like to donate an additional raffle prize, we would be incredibly grateful—please drop it into the school office.

🥤💚 Supporting Our School, One Snack at a Time! 💚🥤

Did you know that Friends of Cann Bridge installed our refreshments fridge this academic year?

Located in the corridor outside the meeting room, the fridge is stocked with a range of drinks and snacks for staff and visitors to enjoy. It’s regularly replenished, with stock based on what’s selling well, and we also carry out staff surveys to make sure we’re offering the items people would most like to see.

The fridge has been a fantastic success, generating valuable income to support the work of Friends of Cann Bridge.

Every purchase helps the Friends achieve their aim of providing specialist equipment, enriching activities and unique learning experiences for our pupils with severe learning difficulties—opportunities that would not normally be possible within the school’s budget.

If you’d like to make a purchase, simply collect the key, clipboard and SumUp machine from Reception.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported this initiative so far. Every snack and drink purchased helps make a real difference to our learners! 💚

💚 Volunteers Needed – Can You Help? 💚

The Friends of Cann Bridge are looking for volunteers to help at a local Neurodiversity Event on Saturday 19 September.

The Friends team will be running a stall to promote both Cann Bridge School and Friends of Cann Bridge, but they urgently need more helping hands. Even if you can spare just an hour or two, your support would make a huge difference.

There will be lots of fun activities, including:
🦆 Hook-a-Duck
🎁 Lucky Dip
🫧 Bubbles
🧸 Sensory toys and activities
💚 Sharing information about our school and Friends of Cann Bridge

Support is especially needed between 4:00pm and 6:00pm to help pack away at the end of the event.

We’re also looking to borrow a large Jenga set or Connect 4 game to use on the stall. If you can lend either, we’d be very grateful.

💚 Could You Help Make a Difference? 💚

The Friends of Cann Bridge are looking for more volunteers to help support our fantastic school community.

We’re currently looking for parents and carers who could:
🌟 Help at our upcoming Summer Show
🌟 Volunteer at future fundraising events
🌟 Join the Friends of Cann Bridge team

At the moment, we’re very short of volunteers, and without more support it will become increasingly difficult to run events and raise vital funds for our school. Every event helps provide additional opportunities and resources for our learners.

Whether you can spare an hour now and then or would like to become a regular member of the Friends team, we’d love to hear from you.

🎯 Friends of Cann Bridge Charity Darts Fundraiser 💚

Come along and support Friends of Cann Bridge this Saturday at The Jolly Miller for a fun-filled charity darts tournament in aid of Cann Bridge School.

🏟️Friday 18th July
🕛 Starts at 12:00pm

The tournament will continue until the fundraising target is reached, so whether you’re a keen darts player or just fancy enjoying a drink in the sunshine, we’d love to see you there.

Every visit, donation and show of support helps make a difference to our learners.

We hope to see lots of familiar faces—thank you for supporting our wonderful school community! 💚 🎯
