We’re getting ready for this year’s collections!

On the day students got their GCSE results, we too got confirmation of our Club Excellence Award from Rotary International!
We met the required number of goals on Rotary Central to prove that we are active in a range of Rotary activities that meet all the strategic objectives of the organisation.
And - we are one of only two clubs in Rotary International District 1175 to achieve this recognition in 25/26.
To say we are chuffed is a bit of an understatement! Many congrats to our IPP Emma, who steered our club through last year 😃🤩🥳

Thank you for your visit Darren. Good to hear about your aspirations for the year. A great meeting!

One of the key challenges our District Governor has set for clubs this year is to embrace innovation and make better use of technology to connect, engage, and serve. Our District eClub is a great example of this in action.

During his visit this evening, the DG saw firsthand how members use digital platforms to create a vibrant and inclusive club experience. By meeting online, the club brings together members from different locations, offering flexibility while maintaining the fellowship and purpose that are central to Rotary.

The District eClub demonstrates how technology can strengthen membership, improve communication, and expand our impact. Thank you to the members for their warm welcome, thought-provoking questions, and for showcasing what is possible when Rotary traditions are combined with innovative thinking.

We have launched our Rotarians Against Rubbish Project! We are collecting and recycling as much rubbish as we can as we go about our daily business.
By just taking a biodegradable bag out with us and taking sensible precautions we improve our environment, save wildlife, improve our communities and reduce landfill.
And by recording what we do we evidence our impact.
Some days it’s just one chocolate wrapper, occasionally it’s bags of dumped mess. Either way we are in a positive way.

For our first face to face meeting of this Rotary year was a lovely wine tasting evening at the Tiverton Canal Co on the horse drawn canal boat.
It was our Presidents’ Handover and the perfect opportunity to present Emma, our IPP, with a Paul Harris Fellowship Award, for all her hard work for our club and beyond.
It was also great to welcome our friends Rotarian Metchild, from Germany and Andy.
