Today is World Mental Health Day and this year’s theme is Lived Experiences Heard, Real Voices, Real Change. Something to strive for.

The World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) hopes that organizations around the world will organize events reflecting this theme while also supporting the World Health Organization's initiative on deinstitutionalization.

Throughout October, Rotary e-Club SW Peninsula is collecting clean, serviceable coats, anoraks, parkas, gilets, gloves, beanies, scarves and similar items for Wrap Up UK, helping those who need protection from the winter cold.

📍 Collection point: Younghayes Centre, Cranbrook
🕙 Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am–2:00pm

If you have any suitable items you no longer need, please consider donating them.

📸 And this year, there’s a photo booth! Take a photo when you drop off your donation and capture the moment. 💗

We need your UNWANTED COATS again in South Molton this October! With collection points in in Sainsburys, The Amory Centre and the Parish Church during opening hours. If all zips and buttons are in good condition and working then we want them to pass to local charities that work with people who need them.

In our Basic Education and Literacy Month it was good to see the photos of the children in Taonga, Berkino Faso using the resources sent through Literacy in a Box and hear from Julie at Read Easy about how they help adults here in England to read.

On the United Nations International Day of Peace, we recognize individuals and communities working to create a more peaceful world and Rotary’s commitment to investing in programs that advance peace. 🕊️🩵

Promoting peace is one of Rotary's core causes, and every year, Rotary Peace Fellows put that commitment into action. Through the Rotary Peace Fellowship, dedicated leaders from around the globe gain the skills, knowledge, and networks needed to address the root causes of conflict, strengthen communities, and build sustainable peace in many different ways.

Today , we celebrate the inspiring work of Rotary Peace Fellows and Rotary peacebuilders everywhere who are fostering dialogue, advancing understanding, and generating Positive Peace in their communities and beyond. Together, we can help build a world where peace is more than the absence of conflict. It is the presence of opportunity, dignity, justice, and hope for all. 🙌🏽
