It is my opinion that influential persons who have access to the media should be careful about sending cogent messages that may lead to the masses losing confidence in our security systems. Already crime is out of hand but who is responsible?
Recently the Chairman of the Tobago Business chamber took a jab at the Police Commissioner.
If his parents were not police officers, what role did the police play in raising him as someone who has not selected crime as his option?
How can the police determine which spouse will turn in at two in the dead of night and for what ever reason decide to abuse the other partner? Or maybe which child would have accumulated such negative feelings that propels it to bully another?
On the other hand what yardsticks does he propose to use to assess police effectiveness?

I wonder if people think before speaking?
In the name of reason and I dare say wisdom, how many police officers should the state employ? The recent shooting death of two brothers in the vicinity of a pre school drew a most unfortunate statement from one commentor. Put more Policemen on patrol. should there be one police officer for each individual? Yes! But they are in place and are abdicating their duties . Those officers are named parents who condone wrong doing. break regulations and train their children to do same. The state should employ Clairvoyants (seer men and women) who will detect criminal acts before they occur. The call for more police oficers on the streets comes from many voices. Children, offspring who were nurtured to abuse be disobedient, disrespectful will surely deliver in good time and the nation reaps the pain
